Eating out at canal house

Stopped here on our way to Shenandoah National Park for lunch. Found the restaurant cozy, quirky and comfortable. Limited menu however good choices. We opted for the Mac and cheese which was wonderful. Salad was good with flavorful dressing. Tried the turkey and cranberry sandwich which became chicken instead. Quite good on a rustic bread. Coffee was excellent too. Good... More

My wife and I ate dinner here on a Saturday night in mid-October. We arrived at 6:30 (with reservations). We got seated in 10 minutes or so and our waiter brought water and menus. She told us they were out of the meatloaf, the soup of the day was not yet made, the double chicken entree was not not available... More

We made reservations, which we are glad we did because there were only a few tables. Now we have never been there before and it was a cold fall evening so there may be tables outside, I don't know. But I would definitely make reservations if you want to eat here. The lady who served us was very friendly. The... More

This comfortable, rustic-feeling, FARM to TABLE restaurant is the perfect stop after exploring historic Harpers Ferry. Fresh ingredients, creative seasonings, and attentive service envelop one long into the night. SUPERIOR.

Consistently the best food in the Harpers Ferry/Bolivar area. Locally owned, pub-style hearty food cooked with a lot of love and expertise.

We absolutely love the Meatloaf dinner! A very kind waitress and staff. A nice place to go with friends and family on a Saturday evening!

It's a quaint little place that has great ambiance and very friendly staff. However, the menu is very limited, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. This is not a place for kids. The menu is not suited for kids and neither is the price. It is also a very small space, so if your kids are little wiggly, you may... More

When I walked into the restaurant, I didn't know what to make of the place and I didn't have any expectations. The hostess met me right away and took me to my table. This is a very small restaurant (about 7 tables), with a small-town, Mom and Pop feel. I had the spinach salad with chicken. I could taste right... More
