Nice atmosphere, expensive

Pros: The food at this restaurant is farm to table and organic. The atmosphere is charming and delightful. Cons: To me, the food seemed overpriced. I paid $4 for a side of vegetables and did not receive an amount of veggies worth that price.

While the staff was enthusiastic and friendly I really thought the food was just average. Hard to give a review based on only one meal but I found the meatloaf dry and the tomato gravy which sounded interesting was really only tomatoes. For my taste it lacked seasonings. I am all for cleaner eating but I still need to enjoy... More

Came here after a short hike with my husband for lunch. Good service and sandwiches were great. Soup was different but definitely tasty. Will return soon.

We went here for Sunday lunch because of reviews. We arrived at 1.30 and they are open till 5pm. At 1.50 the girl was cleaning the tables and chairs with strong smelling disinfectant while we were eating, she then proceeded to sweep under all the tables and move the chairs. We felt as if we were keeping them from going... More

Delicious southern farm vegetables and innovative recipes make this restaurant a wonderfully unexpected in Harper's Ferry. Worth the trip to Harper's Ferry just for the food and experience.

I stopped here with a few friends for lunch after hiking nearby and there was no wait. The service was great and the food was fantastic. They use local ingredients and create unique sandwiches. We had the ham and Brie sandwich, pasta, and corn salad and everything was delicious. Plus, the prices were reasonable and since it wasn't located in... More

Today, before our guided not tour of Harpers Ferry, we stopped in at the Canal House for a quick lunch. We were the first customers to arrive and were greeted by chef Matthew Dimbylow, who showed us around the repurposed 18th century home and told us about his farm-to-table philosophy. The restaurant is charming.. The menu changes often and the... More

Enjoyed this cafe style bistro. My partner had the farmers salad with chicken. And I had the soup d'jour a watermelon onion gazpacho with their version of a BLT called triple crown. Fantastic accompanied by a refreshing lavender mint iced tea. Definitely tasty.

I loved it, the back patio seating with the lights above. They were more then accommodating for the large group I had. Food was great, it is BYOB and they kept extra drinks in the fridge for us and brought it out as needed. They had citronella candles going to help with the state bird the mosquito. The waitress was... More

This was the second time we have eaten here. It is a pleasant relaxed place with old time interior. The food is advertised as fresh and healthy. The food is interesting but for some reason not as good as the last time we were there. The service is very good and the prices are reasonable. My wife had a ham... More
