Great food, the best hummus and fresh veggies I have had in a while. Loved the feel of the place. Perfect

We just arrived in Harper's Ferry and were looking for a nice restaurant to start off our week. This place hit the spot! Some reviews on Trip Advisor said that there were "no good restaurants in Harper's Ferry." Well maybe that was written before April (when this place opened), because Canal House has food that are creative spins on old... More

Went for dinner with family. Sat on the outdoor patio which was lovely. The place is charming. The menu is a little boring but ask about the entree specials which may be more appealing if you don't want a sandwich. I chose the eggplant parmigiana which was delicious and well prepared. It had excellent flavor. The dish would have benefitted... More

This food here is delicious, plentiful, and the staff friendly and accommodating. The building was a hospital during the civil war. The comfortable dining room, good food, and friendly staff made dining a pleasure.

This was a delightful find as we traveled through Harpers Ferry, WV on our last day of vacation. The choices were different - touting "fresh, farm to table - local farmers market fresh"! We were not disappointed, Simple choices, but the flavors were fresh, service was friendly - best choice for lunch in Harpers Ferry. This is my little "quirk"... More

For a boutique type restaurant with european ambience I was disappointed in the menu choices. I picked up this place because it was close to where I was staying and looked yummy from the outside. Things were slow elsewhere on a Monday evening and this place was open. It had very basic sandwiches which were both small in size and... More

Tripadviser reviews of this restaurant put it on our list of "must-try" spots in Harpers Ferry. Clearly people know what they are talking about regarding Canal House. We arrived tired and hot after a full day in blazing heat/humidity. We were welcomed warmly, and offered either outdoor (they had a folk band playing live music to a big crowd of... More

The Canal House in recent years has been a gamble. One night you might get an excellent dinner, and then the next night the food might be "meh" and overpriced. That's changed with the new managers. The emphasis is on local, sustainable food. You can BYOB for a $5 corkage fee. We were very pleased with our two recent dinners... More
