Outstanding gourmet restaurant set in the middle of the woods overlooking Lake Superior through the trees. Clever modern architect design combining a number of connected buildings, glass, wood, soaring ceilings and interesting art work. We ate both small plates off the bar menu in the bar one night and full dinners off the dinner menu in the dining room another... More

We had dinner here last Friday. It is one of my favorite restaurants when traveling around Lake Superior. I like to stop here every time I am in the area. I enjoy seeing how people respond to going there for the first time. I took my son and he was absolutely entertained. The building itself is amazing, beautiful glass structure... More

Visited with a party of three. Excellent food and service. Nothing to fault here. I had the bison filet, nicely presented and more tender than most bison. The blueberry crisp for desert was incredible. I don't think you'll find many restaurants this good in such a rural setting. Worth a trip to Bayfield.

A few local people recommended this restaurant as the best around. We were sorely understated when we arrived, having never imagined seeing an upscale restaurant in such a small community. We were welcomed and the food was excellent and interesting.

The wait staff were absolutely wonderful and so accommodating. The manager took us on a tour of the kitchen and explained how certain house specialties were made. We enjoyed the food too!

The Wild a Rice is a big city restaurant in a very small town. Architecturally interesting, it has a wine-spectator worthy wine list and dishes to match. The ingredients are all top notch and fresh. I had the lamb rack, which was garnished with a tapenade and a light tomato-chorizo sauce. The lamb itself was a bit dry. The dish... More

I am probably the odd man out in reviewing this restaurant. There are so many things that a great about Wild Rice. The building itself is terrific, the service is good, some of the food is excellent and it is a destination restaurant that I would recommend visiting. It is not inexpensive and the wine list is pricey. The chef... More

One of the nicest resturants in Northern Wisconsin. The building is gorgeous. The food was amazing. Each bite, we stoped and discussed the flavors. The host Randy was exceptional. Extremely kind & helpful. He belongs in a place like this. Upscale 100%...this is perfect for a special occasion. Don't skip desert !

Dinner at the Wild Rice during our visit was a wonderful fine dining experience. We didn't know there was such a thing around the rural area, but tired it and glad we did. The Foie Gras was great, with "sides" of duck breast and fruit. Ditto, the bison tenderloin, rare and generous with mashed potatoes. Ann had the scallops which... More
