The food was very good. However, this place is so popular that I recommend making a reservation. The pasta was excellent.

Food is average, the staff is friendly, but they did not honor our agreement to rent the restaurant for our wedding guests, leaving everyone standing around in the bar, with no place to sit and eat. Terrible.

If you're staying in Bayfield and you're getting tired of whitefish and such, Ethel's is a nice change. I know, Italian food is so common these days, but they do it right at Ethel's. I had the chicken parmesan and it was excellent. We traveled to Bayfield in late August, and visited on a weeknight. I remember we did have... More

We were pleased with the food at Ethel's, but the menu was limited since it was the end of the season and they were trying to purge their stock. A little on the pricey side as well: $14 for cheese raviolis and a slice of garlic bread. A side salad was extra.

We were in Bayfield for the Apple Festival and while there we visited Ethel's at 250. We had made reservations and were seated with about 10 minutes after arrival. During our wait we enjoyed the outdoor deck area, though it was cool & rainy that evening, we were toasty & dry. We then were seated and greeted by a wonderful... More

We were told we'd have to wait 30 minutes for a table, but it was more like 20. We split the trout crostini appetizer, which was excellent. We each had a bowl of whitefish chowder, which was just OK. It was fairly bland.

Had dinner here last month with my husband and two friends while staying down the block at the Old Rittenhouse Inn. Stopped by shortly after they had opened and they did take a reservation for us. We shared a Chequamegon Greens Salad for 2 (Organic spring mix, apples, candied walnuts, Feta, dried cranberries, apple vinaigrette dressing). I must say this... More

Made call ahead seating(no reservations) for a party of 4. Seating included a wooden bench for 2 of us. No cushions so got a bit uncomfortable. It took about 10 minutes for waitress to come to table. We tried 2 apps, smoked trout crostini was great, the spinach/artichoke dip was ok-really nothing special. Wine and beer only. Ordered portobello stuffed... More
