A sit down Pals

I've avoided Pals because of the free standing locations with no seating. I rarely eat in the car - not good for the digestion. I've heard good things about the chili dogs. Frankly, I wasn't that impressed - good but not memorable. Dry, crumbly chili. I like the chili dogs at Hardee's much better.

Pals has a high standard most other fast food places fail miserably at. The food is always hot and fresh..they have the best fries in town..plus their sweet tea is famous around these parts.

They rank up there with Dick's in Wilson, NC. Steamed buns, packed with mustard chili and onions, they melted in my mouth. Order a couple and you will not be disappointed.

Have you ever been to a place that is non-descript on the inside and go-hum on the outside...but has delicious food? If not, come here to start your list! Their burgers are fantastic! Their fries are even better! We come here EVERY time we come to town...It is just that good!

Pal's was recommended to us by our tour guide at the Johnson HIstoric Site. Ended up being a hit with my children. The BBQ hot dog was different but tasty. The "sauce burger" was a burger that ended up tasting like a sloppy joe. Service was friendly and fast. Restaurant was clean. Prices were cheap. Was able to feed a... More

Read the reviews left by others and thought I'd give the place a shot. It's a little hard to find (at least my GPS got a little confused)... it's in the big K-Mart strip mall. It's kind of strange. The cashier is constantly surveying the parking lot and announces the number of customers approaching over the microphone (presumably so they... More

One of the best places for sweet and unsweet tea and the frenchie fries are always hot, crispy and wonderful. If you are trying the ham and cheese, ask for it to be grilled...very flavorful.

Pal's has the best hot dogs on earth - and you can't get them anywhere outside the Mountain Empire area of upper East Tennessee and southwestern Virginia. This a very small chain, locally owned by "Pal" Barger, and he will not sell franchises. There are no stores outside of this area, which just keeps it extra special and worth the... More

You won't find better service at a fast food restaurant. The "frenchy fries" are some of the best french fries I have ever had. The sweet tea is great too. Their signature "Big Pal and Jr. Burger" hamburgers are good but not anything special. They have other items including hot dogs, milkshakes, chipped ham sandwiches, and their original invention the... More
