The Emporium immediately takes you back to days gone by the moment you walk in the door. A quick look around and you'll see countless items that one would have purchased in the 50's or earlier, yet also find a touch of the new. The real treat, however, is the old-school soda & ice cream counter! Truly one of the... More

The Emporium is a wonderful place to go and enjoy ice cream, Italian sodas and a great atmosphere. They make the most awesome malts! They serve Blue Bell Ice Cream which is my favorite brand of ice cream and they have a great selection of ice cream flavors. They have great customer service and love the antique ice cream parlor.... I'm not sure how to describe this place. It's part scrapbooking store, book shop, gift shop, coffee shop, old-time soda fountain - with some antiques scattered around as well as some seasonal displays. It's a fun place to browse, but don't leave without trying some Blue Bell ice cream, a sundae, a float or a malt or shake. I love... More

Every trip we take, I search for scrapbook supplies so when I saw the listing for the Emporium I couldn't wait to take a peek around - while there are some paper supplies there, it is not a full-fledged scrapbook store. However, the building is fun and has some great collectible pieces on display. There are keepsakes, children's toys and... More

The Emporium is a great place in South Del Rio, which is a landmark on Main Street. The owner's and staff are always friendly and helpful. The have the best selection of Blue Bell ice cream in town, and make the best shake and sundaes. There is a wide variety of coffee to chose from too. They have a nice... More

I lived in Del Rio for a few years, and hardly made trips this side of the railroad tracks. Having a teenage daughter who loves ice cream, we made a visit to The Emporium to see what the talk has always been about. The shop isn't much of an old time drugstore, but a craft, stationery shop. There are sections... More

The Emporium is an old fashioned soda fountain. It is so rare to find these anywhere and such a fun experience for your kids. The owners I believe live on top of the shop, you can get ice cream, floats, candy, chocolates, etc. Also they have a lot of melissa and doug toys that are great for kids and have... More

My husband (a 60+ person) who can walk and talk at the same time got a malt. He stood up and walked over to a display without touching it and we were told we had to sit at our table. I was shocked and disturbed at this treatment and we have never been back and never will. We live in... More

We enjoyed freshly-brewed cups of coffee and fabulous banana-splits. Milkshakes, malts and basic soda-fountain fare is served. The staff is friendly and efficient, with the store having quite a few local customers returning time-and-time-again. A play area for younger customers is featured. The Emporium is also a gift/book/scrap-booking store. It has quite a range of goods.
