Pricey and Limited Lunch Menu

The menu used for lunch and dinner is really a dinner menu with price points befitting a much more upper scale restaurant. The Mexican food we had was just okay. The restaurant was not very clean and from what we could see through the door to the kitchen it was even worse. The tables are close... read more

There are many Mexican Restaurants in the area but Manuel's is always my first choice. Their food is fresh and well prepared and presented. Yes, it can be crowded and noisy but it is worth a visit. The house made chips and salsa are first rate and usually fresh and warm. Great Margaritas too!!!!!

I asked for a NAKED CHILE RELLENO and pointed to it on the menu. This is as opposed to the CHILE RELLENO which has bean and rice which I did not want. When the plate cam it included the beans and rice, when I queried this I was told that the menu had changed and the naked was not ther... More

Very nice steak dinner right next door to our motel...it was a Sunday night and it was pretty busy, so obviously well known to the locals. Steak was cooked perfectly and very reasonably priced and we had a very nice bottle of wine as well. Bar area, TV's, and very good service. Would recommend.

Restaurant was originally located in Acuna, Mexico. I enjoyed many meals at that time. They eventually opened in Del Rio, and while still good, not as good as the original. Good selection of meals available, both American and Mexican. Good service, decent prices.

We were staying at the nearby Whispering Palms motel, and walked to this restaurant. They serve steaks, mexican food and seafood. My husband had the enchiladas with tomatillo sauce, while I had shimp kabobs with vegetables. The food came so quickly that I hardly had time to touch my salad before the main entree came. A table nearby ordered some... More

Apparently this place used to be on the Mexico side and wisely moved to the less risky side of the Rio Grande. I had the grilled Cabrito which was on point. Even got to choose which part...hind quarter of course. The pico and guacamole were very nice compliments. However, store bought tortillas were disappointing. Charro beans, chips and salsa were... We are passing through Del Rio and staying at the Whispering Palms. The dining choices are limited here and Manuel's turned out to be a good choice. We had very good service on a busy night. We were not in a hurry and glad to enjoy good chips and excellent salsa and didn't mind waiting awhile for our food. They... More

3 of us had dinner here over the weekend. Our reservation was honored and we were seated within minutes of our on time arrival. For Del Rio, this is an upscale restaurant with a nice atmosphere, a nice bar area and updated decor. The menu has great variety. Our server was pleasant and did a nice job taking care if... More
