Dinner Last Night at Del Rio

My husband and I wanted to go to an "authentic" Mexican food place. We chose Don Marcelino's because we thought this might be the place. You order before sitting down and pay, which was okay. I ordered the fajitas and my husband ordered a steak with a tomato sauce on it. My fajitas did not... read more

Don Marcelino's is a must stop whenever we are in Del Rio. Good food with daily specials to boot. Drinks are pricey but refills make up for it. Friendly staff makes Don Marcelino's a pleasure to return.

English cut ribs are to die for. Make sure you take your appetite. Other plates my friends got were also very tempting. Take your appetite, dishes are piled high.

We ordered & paid for our meals first, before we sat at our table. Person taking our order was indifferent, unfriendly; no greeting or welcome. Wait staff unattentive, also unfriendly, seem only there to deliver food from kitchen to your table and then not come back. You are given a glass to fill and refill yourself. The rest rooms have... The Crispy Tacos and Red Enchiladas are exceptional. Very authenic atmosphere. As has been rated by others, the service is pretty poor. However, you order and pay at the counter, then count on doing everything else yourself, the waitresses never remember. The food quality overcomes this issue for me.

Food was good and authentic. Service is poor and i dont believe it was just our server. it seems to be a common thing among the staff. The owner might want to look into re-energizing their employees or finding new ones

Really disappointed. The restaurant came highly recommended by a family member but it most certainly did not live up to the recommendation. My food was over cooked. There are no wait staff. You get your own refills. The cashier was lethargic and ever so slightly confrontational. Despite the discount environment my food was most certainly not discounted. My wife really... More

Passing through Del Rio we found Don Marcelino's. I was recommended to us by a state trooper. We were glad we found this restaurant. The tortillas were very fresh and the rice and beans were very good. I ordered the T-bone steak and it was cooked just like i requested and the taste was excellent. They didn't have a wait... More

Being smack dab on the U.S. MEXICAN border I would think there are mexican food restarunts on every corner. Not the case. Don marcellinos is more of a fast food place than a sit down and order sorta place. My food was poorly plated. Tacos crumbled apart. Waiters waitresses don't exist. You order at counter, given a number and told... More

With the Mexican border in view you would expect great food and you won't be disappointed. The selection is excellent and the service very good.
