Basic and rather bare appearance despite the linens on the wooden tables but first-class food. Open daily from 10am-3pm and 5-10pm. Does not deliver. Having visited Vietnam with anticipation some years ago, we were disappointed to repeatedly discover while there that the food was actually much better at Vietnamese restaurants in the developed countries - especially Paris (France), Vancouver and... If only there had been more than two of us, we could have tried more dishes. We ate: Nom (green papaya salad with Vietnamese "beef jerky" $6.30) - the balance of dressing, peanuts, noodles, papaya, beef and seasoning was just right. Bun Cha Hanoi (marinated grilled pork and salad wrap $13.50) is very tender pork in a delicately flavoursome broth,... More

3 of us stopped by Bodega Bistro for dinner on a random week night, as we happened to be in the area. I'm always a little nervous to try a new Vietnamese place because my partner is Vietnamese and very hard to please with restaurant food. What a really nice surprise to have enjoyed everything we ordered. I don't remember... More

We did not ever eat vietnamese cuisine before. Pho was so fine. The soups were very spicy and i like it. Maybe too much cylantro, everywhere. Service perfect, location in yhe heart of Little Saigon.

They close at 9 pm, but let us in at 8:30 for a late night supper of one of their soups. We are so glad it made it there - a true Vietnamese experience, delicious soups. We were sorry we got in too late to try other items on the menu. So go early!

After a long day of sightseeing and some pretty rich French food the night before, we were craving some pho soup and lighter fare. Bodega Bistro did not disappoint! Despite being in a neighborhood with a somewhat sketchy reputation, we found it conveniently located via the muni busses and felt fine in the area. The pho is awesome and traditional,... More

This restaurant has no fancy ambience and location, but the food is fantastic. The food is mostly Indo-Chine and French. For my meal, we ate mostly Indo-Chine cuisine. The dishes that I like most is the fried spicy crab, roasted pigeon, papaya salad and chicken noddle soup. My family had beef, and they said it is delicious too. ( I... More

What an excellent meal we had in this medium-sized restaurant in the Tenderloin. Everything we ordered was excellent! I highly recommend it.

My partner and I went to this restaurant on our first night in SF. I was a bit put off by the neighbourhood at first but, what goes on there is not really a problem if you're just visiting. We never felt threatened at any point. The staff at the restaurant was polite and attentive. We started with nems served... More
