Arrived about 6 pm and as a couple we had to wait about 45 mins. But the humour level was high among the other waiting couples. Good food, great buzz and really excellent value. Naturally after reading the other reviews we had the crab cioppino for two. Really good. Unfortunately we chose not to queue again, even though we had... More

Host was so friendly and offered us wine as we waited for our table . Sit in main dining area that is where the action is . Sand dabs , cioppino and linguine alioli were shared by three . Amazing food in a fun and lively atmosphere . Very fun waitress too.

I visited with a friend and had to wait 1.5hrs to get seated. We went across the street for drinks while we waited and wondered if this was as good as they say it is... YES it was!!! We ordered the crab cioppino. It was perfectly cooked with plenty of seafood to share. Delicious broth as well. I would definitely... More

The service, setting and ambiance are delightfully unpretentious and put you at ease immediately. Everything about this restaurant exceeded my expectations except the food. As a professional chef with 40 years experience, my trip to San Francisco over thirty-five years ago was a benchmark high point when I first tasted cioppino. It has remained a personal recipe favorite which I... More

Forget Fisherman's Wharf. We were looking for a great food experience in North Beach before going to Beach Blanket Babylon and found it at Trip Advisor. I started out with great oyster shooters. My wife and I shared the Cioppino for two and were stuffed. Our companions had other seafood dishes and were equally satisfied. The restaurant is no frills... More

This is an excellent find in the Little Italy district of San Francisco. Had the clam chowder, smoked salmon, and of course the Cioppino! All of them absolutely delicious! However, it is an incredibly busy place, and they do not take reservations for parties of less than 3 people. Our wait was approximately 45 minutes on a Wednesday night. Plenty... More

This restaurant is a great North Beach experience. We had a reservation, but ended up being put in the downstairs area, truly under the sea. Two couples and both ordered the Cioppino for 2. It was very tasty, and lots to eat. Service was very good. The meal itself, while very tasty, was messy. Some of the crab pieces were... More

We found this restaurant through Tripadvisor, and were happily not disappointed! Located in the North Beach area, at first glance the restaurant looks a little like whole in the wall. They accept reservations for parties of three or more, but since we were only two, we just showed up. There was a huge crowd of people waiting to be seated,... More

This place has some fantastic food. We enjoyed prawns and scallops. Busy place but the service was very good. Very glad we stopped here.
