We visited the bakery portion of the store. We bought some sour dough bread and a jalapeño cheese bread for a snack. Breads were delicious and the smell was great. You can even watch the bakers making bread from the window on the street.

Great atmosphere - holiday time so huge crowds. Ordered the Tasty Tomato soup in a Break Bun. Delicious! Cost reasonable as well.

It's hard to tell from some of thee reviews whether they're talking about the get-in-line-and-order place downstairs or the restaurant upstairs. They're very different. The restaurant has a fuller, more expensive, menu. We ate there and preferred it to the downstairs, crowded area, which still has delicious fresh sourdough bread, but is not as special and is a lot more... More

This place is a must if ever in San Francisco. The bread is so delicious. Buy a couple extra breads, you'll thank me later.

wanting a taste of sf sour dough bread and in a hurry to continue shopping, I grabbed a bite at the embarcadaro adjacent eatery. with a view of the ice skating rink I enjoyed it very much. The bowl soup looked yummy and it was a nice clean atmosphere to rest my feet and fill my tummy. I love the... More

We went here because the locals kept raving about the clamchowder bowls, it was okay. I had sole, the fish and the sides were severely underseasoned (if at all). View was spectacular on their second story deck outside. Service was slow. We wont do a repeat but there is a small museum tour in the restaurant which also houses their... More

I went to both Boudin's around Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 and while they are great as tourist attractions, especially the Boudins at Pier 39, I wouldn't necessarily bother eating there. Not that the food is bad, it's fine, but the queues are incredibly long. Check out the animal breads.

Oh my goodness, Boudins really does live up to its reputation! It is a must visit whilst in San Fran. I had the chowder in sourdough (one of many I tried across San Fran) and it was the best chowder I had! My partner had tomato soup in sourdough and states is was the best soup ever! We then wandered... More

The café has a glass display cabinet with delicious looking small filled rolls. We bought 2 with 2 soft drinks. The bill was $30! Go to Walgreens next door and save the money!
