Best Italian dinner in North Beach

Beautiful view of Washington Square and free parking in back for diners. Delicious meal with just what everyone wanted. Seafood pasta, Chicken and pesto linguini, and smoked mozzarella with sun dried tomatoe, prosciutto and mushroom rigatoni in an amazing sauce. The calamari was delicious (not... read more

like most SF restaurants this place is busy so if you can book. the staff are lovely and make a huge effort to find tables for people. if you are eating outside the street tables are heated by overhead lamps to combat SF's chilly breezes. great pasta and gnocchi. :)

We actually stumbled upon this lovely little place heading out of the Fisherman's wharf area and what a find! Nice place with tables inside and out. We sat outside to enjoy the ambiance had some Italian beer and pizza. Both pizza's were excellent - margharita and salsicce e funghi. Service was very good, restaurant clean. Well worth the visit!

The wait staff here was lively and fun. Food was fine but limited vegetarian selections. Most of our party of 10 had "typical" Italian dishes but I always like to experiment with more unusual fare.

I recommend the Salsicce E Funghi - Italian sausage and mushrooms. The sausage has a nice hot kick and the 10" is enough for two.

First dinner in SFO, not as expected. We ordered 2 pizza margherita which were more like pizza hut style definitely not Italian, one risotto marinara impossible to eat and one rib eye wich was good. The chianti wine they should use it as vinaigrette for the salad. The service was good.

Great neighborhood place. Everyone loved their food and the staff was great. We reserved on open table saturday afternoon for that evening and if you read some of the negative reviews, they don't seem to check what's booking on open table as they didn't have us down in their 'book'. Which I think is an actual paper and pen book.... More

My first time eating here, but it won't be my last! A large menu full of traditional Italian dishes, and a great daily menu of specials. Terrific wine list, nicely priced. Outside and inside seating. Our waiter was amazing so the service was outstanding. Just entering and smelling the aromas from the kitchen is a pleasure. Appetizers, prima piatti, fish... More

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
