Very friendly staff, great food and ambiance. We had a combination of specials and list menu items. Our server was Esteban, he was fantastic.

We were hoofing it, having escaped the throngs of tourists in crowded pier areas over the Memorial Day Weekend. We wandered in, no planning, hungry and grumpy. Pesto Fettuccini was best we've had. House wine had a good kick. Very good Italian beer. Very elegant and professional service, pleasant, airy spot on Columbus in North Beach/Telegraph hill. Inexpensive at lunch.... More

On a recent vacation to San Francisco we happened to walk by Piazza Pellegrini and decided to stop in and have a pizza there. Their pizza americano was $15.95 and was one of the best pizzas we've ever had. It was baked in a hearth oven, had a crispy crust, a good sauce and tasty pepperoni. It was not greasy.... More

I have to admit the food is delicious. BUT!, the service is horrendous. Waiting to be sit down the waiter passed us by some three times. From the door the kitchen staff can see the door as it is an open kitchen and yet no one notified any of the waiters. When we were finally seated. The waiter (Mexican) who... More

Ok, so I'm a gnocci snob. Well Piazza Pellegrini did not disappoint. Not only was the gnocci very good, but the service was quite good (very accommodating). The atmosphere is a bit more informal than some of the other area Italian restaurants, and there appeared to be many

My son and I were walking back to our hotel and came across Piazza Pellegrini and we looked at their menu and decided to eat here. The restaurant is not that big on the inside but they also have seating outside with overhead heating in case it gets too cold. The atmosphere is very very Italian. The waiters greeted us... More

Best lasagna I've ever had! Friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating servers! My husband wanted something spicy and we were told, 'pick whatever you'd like and we'll make it spicy'! Will definitely return

Great restaurant. Definitely a great place. A definite keeper. Pasta was homemade and fresh. Pizza as an appetizer was a nice change and moderately priced.

Staying in Russian Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Russian Hill
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.
