I stumbled into this wonderful bakery strolling along Polk St. It is a bakery in an antique store. I walked in because the concept is so intriqing and attractive. I spoke with the baker, Earl, after having difficulty in placing an order for a small wedding cake with other bakeries. I was out of state and wanted a very small, two tiered, wedding cake for our wedding ceremony at city hall. He listened and assured me it wouldn't be problem. My family and I come from London and we were visiting San Francisco for a birthday. I contacted earl about the cake, he was so helpful and the cake was delivered to our hotel on time, and tasted fantastic. He did everything we asked for and made this day very special :)

We hadn't been here for two years and found that nothing had changed. Still great baked goods which are more like home-made than store-bought. The pies, cakes and cookies Re hard to beat. It's also fun to browse the antiques while you're there.

We happened upon Lotta's while looking for a lunch destination and were drawn in by the vintage finds in the window. I'm so glad we found it.
