Great gelato!

We had great gelato here. We had earl grey (which was very different but amazing), Madagascar vanilla, and nocciola. We also tried several sorbetto which were all great. The guy behind the counter was very nice and very knowledgeable. He gave us the idea to pair the vanilla with the blood orange sorbetto so it tastes like a Creamsicle. Yum!

Take wife for gelato every vacation trip. Stumbled upon this place after dinner. Gelato was very good but wife raved. Flavors were interesting and quality rivaled everything we have had in Europe. Give it a shot

Gelateria Naia is surrounded by dozens of Italian restaurants. That makes for a pretty good excuse to stop by once you are done with your Italian dinner. We did just that, and it hit the spot for that perfect Italian night out on the town. The flavors were bold and pronounced. Several different flavors of chocolate alone. We all loved... More

There are other gelato places in North Beach but I think this one is best. They were so generous with the samples I think we sampled almost all of them! We got 2 flavors each and were very happy with our selections. They are all very natural too. They have non dairy options as well. Delicious!!

Creamy, delicious, and obviously made in the traditional italian style. About 12 flavors from which to choose. Service was very friendly. Truly satisfying.

My boyfriend surprised me with a birthday getaway to San Francisco, ran into this neat shop because we were craving Gelato!!! I must say it was fantastic. Pistachio is our favorite!!! But the service was not so great!!!! We had to warm the gentleman up just to get ok service? We felt we were anmoying him because we asked to... More

I am an Italian, living in the bay area for the last 25 years, and I can claim to know virtues and idiosyncrasies of both sides of the ocean. Naia's ice cream is reasonably good and almost reasonably priced, choice of flavor is varied and with some peaks of originality: black sesame, honey tangeine and absynthe, on the side of... More

Stooped here after dinner in little Italy. tons of flavor choices. my husband and I each had a small dish with two different flavors. all four were excellent. very small place, you will most likely have to walk while you eat, but it is worth it.

So I'm in Little Italy, and am excited at the prospect of getting some honest-to-goodness Italian-style gelato. I was hoping that Naia was it. The gelato was good, but...kind of meh. Nothing that great. IT's a good spot to go to and get a gelato, but it's not what I was hoping for, and just wasn't like what I get... More

I loved it, it's in a beautiful part if the city and it served me the best ice cream I have ever had outside of Italy. They serve a variety of flavours. I had peanut butter but a good flavour to try if you're feeling more adventurous is pluot (plum + apricot) highly recommend it!

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
