I liked the Liguria bakery. The foccacia with raisins and cinamon was conveniently packed in a small brown paper bag to allow for grazing over the course of the day. Ask for it in this pack if you intend to eat and walk. Selection is all high quality and if you are in need of a jolt of Southern Italy... More

I discovered this bakery when I moved to SF in the early '80s. It was because I would go to Mario's (Bohemian Cigar Store) and drool over their foccaccia sandwiches; one day I learned that the bread came from the austere bakery across the park. Then I started going there instead of Mario's. I can easily eat a slab of... More

Arrive early and bring cash to purchase the best focaccia of your life. She sells out frequently before the end of the day and requires cash, but this no-frills shop knows what it does best and sells only that. They have about eight to ten different foccacia flavors. The jalapeño cheddar is delicious. I am contemplating how I can get... More

Growing up in North Beach, I miss the days when Liguria's foccacia bread was 35 cents for a rectangular slab (seemed bigger as a kid). The good news is there are now more flavors/ toppings. But the traditional pizza (tomato) and onion foccacia are my favorites. During Christmas, I brought packages of fresh foccacia to the workplace. Nothing like freshly... More

THIS is the place for Foccacia...we had the "pizza" - great sauce - and we're picky New Yorkers! There were several other varieties we would have liked to tried, but one order was enough for two. :)

So far the best focaccia I have tried in San Francisco. I am a big fan of the pizza focaccia which just comes with a red sauce on top, but the red sauce is amazing. Great party favor, just pop it in the oven and cut up for snacking. Also great snack option to have in the park across the... More

Avoid the queue over the road and come here. It's really incredible. We had pizza foccacia and onion foccacia and they were amazing. You can sit and eat them in Washington Park and soak up the atmosphere. Highly recommended...if only it was in Sheffield, UK!

My dad has been going to this family run place for 50+ years. As a kid, I would sit in the car double parked while my dad ran in to get the tomato foccaccia. My favorite. Go early to guarantee you get some (they close when they sell out).. which is early afternoon/late morning on the weekend.

Get to Liguria Bakery early before they sell out of their fresh bread. Its a must visit every time we're in The City. My favorite is the pizza sauce bread, but every other flavor is a close second. I just wish every Italian restaurant served their bread.

This place only does one thing and one thing well: Focaccia bread for $5/slab/loaf. Not your heavy, cheesy supermarket version, but light, fluffy and soaked with olive oil. We tried the onion, raisin and mushroom and they were yummy. Because of the oil, a small piece goes a long way and the oil can soak through the butcher paper if... More
