I was brought here by a friend who knew I loved movies, she figured I'd find it enjoyable and boy did I ever. It was incredibly cute inside with tons of photographs and wine bottles to look at and admire. There was a cabinet with some awards too, that were nice to look at. The food was just as great.... Loved this Restaurant, even though I'm sure it's sometimes full of film buffs it still maintains the feel of a neighbourhood restaurant, without any pretentions it pulls off a relaxed feel of an established bistro/brasserie that could be anywhere in Paris or Rome. The food was simply prepared, the pasta perfectly cooked and the sauce rich and tasty and served... More

Had a very nice dinner tonight at Francis Ford Copola's Cafe Zeotrope. Been on vacation for 2 weeks and my wife just wanted some red sauce Italian. This was perfect! A little cafe in a great historic building. Split a Caesar salad and a bottle of Copola's Pino Grigio then my wife had spaghetti and meat balls and I had... More

Cafe Zoetrope is one of our go-to restaurants whenever were in the city. It's a great place to have a drink or glass of wine inside or on the sidewalk. The food and service are good. It's fun to check out the movie memorabilia too.

I wanted to love this restaurant....attentive and friendly service and a great ambience...but the food was barely average. The chef must have forgotten to salt the pasta water because the two of us who ordered pasta found our meals to be nearly tasteless. One member of our party also found the meatballs (which were the featured special of the day)... More

We stumbled across this place but made a happy discovery. Seems to be frequented by an arty affluent clientele at lunchtime and this is reflected in the decor and ambiance. Service was attentive and the food was excellent. The salad was fresh, substantial and attractive. The pizza was top notch.

I love Italian food and I can tell the difference between homemade and canned sauce. I came by myself after reading few reviews on this restaurant and wanted to prove it myself. O boy... I was not disappointed. I ordered spaghetii meatballs and I suddenly in heaven. The service was great and my ex newyorker waitress even organised a taxi... More

We stumbled across this place by chance while on a SanFran tourist bus tour, so made a point to return. We love movies so naturally we were impressed by who owns the building & what happens upstairs but oh the food was just as impressive & the gnocchi the best I've ever had.

we walked by this place several times while in SF. I insisted we eat before we left so we did on Columbus day. We arrived and were sat in a corner booth were we could watch the streets. It was nice but the booths have seen a lot of wear. Our waiter was a little slow to greet us and... More

Found this place by accident since the place we were looking for was closed (Columbus Day). Not unlike Columbus, we were feeling pretty good about this mishap! The place is far from fancy on the inside, but it's definitely quirky and fun. Service was top-notch. LOVED the food. Wine was good. Dined in a corner booth amongst dusty bottles of... More
