Had a couple of hours free in town so decided to talk the walk from downtown for a quick lunch. Still as I remember, and still a great unpretentious, relaxed place. Had an (enormous) Caesar Salad, followed by short ribs, both great, but on this occasion my special praise was for the two 'Old Fashioned's' I had, I was promising... More

but I rarely go to Italian restaurants. I don't eat meat that often, and I always felt that it's cheaper eating pasta at home. HOWEVER, the pasta at Cafe Zoetrope was excellent. My business colleague had the wine sampler and what looked like a nice plate of short ribs. Someone dropped a glass on the floor near us, and the... More

We'd been to a wine tasting in Inglenook so when we found out this place served those wines we decided to go for dinner. The wine did not disappoint and the pre dinner cocktails were excellent too. I had the soup and then puttanesca spaghetti which was were both very nice. Husb had spaghetti and meatballs which he couldn't finish... More

Decided to stop by for a drink while walking through the neighbourhood. Due to the traffic noice we opted for seats at the bar, and after a short conversation with the bartender we changes pace and went for a winetasting session. Ended up spending a few hours in here chatting to the staff, tasting a selection of great wines -... More

We have been going to Cafe Zoetrope for 12 years. Sadly each time we have gone in the last year it has been terrible. The service really is bad. The last time we were completely ignored. The time before that the waitress charged me for olives in my top shelf martini! This used to be our fav spot in the... More

Located in the Majestic Sentinel Building, a San Fran historic landmark in North Beach in Kearny Street. We decided to try this little eatery before going to see a show, so grabbed a table early evening. We all decided on a pasta and it was lovely....not too large a portion....just right...very tasty. As we were there very early it was... More

Booking the table online was easy, being a famous landmark in a famous city, I worried it might be difficult to get a table, but we reserved our table on the morning of our visit. The FFC link is everywhere in this Italian Restaurant/Cafe/Bar. I'll get the bad bit over with first of all...the service, though polite, was rather slow... More

Aside from the vast array of things to look on the wall, the dishes and Mr. Coppola's selection of wines are pretty good (although I personally found my pasta dish on my second visit so-so compared to the meat dish ordered previously). Well worth a visit!

Decided last minute to try this place when heard about it on a tour. We were able to get reservation surprisingly. Very small but cool place in Little Italy. The service was slow to poor. But great atmosphere and food. The Caesar salad was fresh, crisp and tasty. Wife and son had the mufalatta. I tried a bit and it... More

Went to have dinner because the hotel we were staying at was right across the street, they wouldn't seat us until the owner said it was ok because of reservation, they are Italian bistro so their old school Italian recipes so if you are looking for raviolis or pepperoni pizza forget if you have kids they probably won't want anything...
