Vegan surprise!

We'd been directed to Gracias Madre but weren't able to eat there because they couldn't guarantee no cross contamination of nuts, which I'm allergic to. The staff suggested we try Weird Fish, just next door across the street, instead and we were surprised and delighted! The place is small and... read more

Try to step into this small venue on mission street! I came by during a weekend and it was pretty full. Give 'em a chance another day and I didnt regret: very good food! I tried a Lousiana style po' boy and it was pretty tasty, maybe a little saucy. Anyways, the icing on the cake? the bloody mary! Fantastic!

Came here at 11:30 on a Sunday so we could choose from brunch or regular menu. We are 95% vegan but occasionally will eat wild sustainable seafood. This funky little hole-in-the-wall establishment was simply amazing. Suzanna had the best vegan ranceros which had the best seasoned tofu with huge avocado slices, beans , fresh corn tortillas. Very yummy. I had... More

Small, quirky restaurant with quick and tasty food. We shared the sweet potatoes, sauteed spinach and other sides. All of us were happy with our main dishes and left filled up.

I have to say the vegan spicy tortilla soup was outstanding. The tofu fish and chips were very good also but not like the soup. The service was wonderful as well. I did not hear the y were closing as a previous reviewer said so check before you go. Well worth the visit and I will return.

We ate at this restaurant at the recommendation of a family member who lives in the Mission District. The food was wonderful and very imaginative. We wanted more fish and this was a great place to eat. It's a very small restaurant and the flavor combinations are amazing.

Dante's is a great little spot in the Mission; unfortunately, it's closing! :( The food here is great for vegetarians. On my first visit here, I had Buffalo Girls (seitan wings) and Hell Tacos (seitan), while my wife had Plantains and Waco Tacos. I can't say enough how great the variety of food is, and how delicious everything is! I've... More

Two meals here; both remarkably good. Last night the blackened catfish sandwich with mango - wow. Plus, the tortilla soup. Because there are so many interesting appearing restos beckoning in SF, I don't often do repeat visits. The fact that we walked a 1/2 mile+, past a number of appealing places, in order to dine at Weird Fish says a... More

Went based on reviews. Did find service excellent and timely. Food was nothing special. Crab cakes were average. So perfectly round they must have come from a factory not made here. My blackened catfish was tasty enough but my wife's stuffed portobello had an off taste and she couldn't finish it. Wouldn't bother coming back if we lived here.

The vegan seitan sandwich was AMAZING! I never knew that a sandwich could taste so good. I would eat that every day for the rest of my life if I could, haha. My friend's meal was also delicious and even the sides (we got tortilla soup and mac n cheese) were totally delicious. Huge servings too. Cheers
