Great food -- so sad it's closing!

Dante's is a great little spot in the Mission; unfortunately, it's closing! :( The food here is great for vegetarians. On my first visit here, I had Buffalo Girls (seitan wings) and Hell Tacos (seitan), while my wife had Plantains and Waco Tacos. I can't say enough how great the variety of food... read more

Two meals here; both remarkably good. Last night the blackened catfish sandwich with mango - wow. Plus, the tortilla soup. Because there are so many interesting appearing restos beckoning in SF, I don't often do repeat visits. The fact that we walked a 1/2 mile+, past a number of appealing places, in order to dine at Weird Fish says a... More

Went based on reviews. Did find service excellent and timely. Food was nothing special. Crab cakes were average. So perfectly round they must have come from a factory not made here. My blackened catfish was tasty enough but my wife's stuffed portobello had an off taste and she couldn't finish it. Wouldn't bother coming back if we lived here.

The vegan seitan sandwich was AMAZING! I never knew that a sandwich could taste so good. I would eat that every day for the rest of my life if I could, haha. My friend's meal was also delicious and even the sides (we got tortilla soup and mac n cheese) were totally delicious. Huge servings too. Cheers

A great restaurant, especially if you are vegan or gluten intolerant. It's kind of hard to see so you may just walk right by it if you're not paying attention. The food was delicious (seitan w/ buffalo sauce & vegan ranch, fish & shrimp tacos, spicy tortilla soup) and the service was very good. Be prepared to wait as they... More

Recommended by a friend this unassuming quirky placein the heart of the Mission is a real find and one I will return to. The menu is made up of everything from tacos, beans & rice dishes, shrimp and different fish varieties - something there for everyone. They can make most dishes gluten free and offer vegan subsititutions. I had a... More

I was visiting Sanfrancisco for a weekend and only had a short time to explore. We were recommended this place as great places for veggies. The place was amazing, small and cosy inside with really quirky interior playing great music, there was a nice relaxed atmosphere and I loved it as soon as I walked in! Even better was the... More

This place was perfect for me, the vegan, and my family, the fish-loving non-vegans. The fried pickles were an awesome appetizer. The vegan dessert we got (chocolate coconut cake) was AWESOME! It was so great that I walked down a few nights later and picked up a different flavor (vegan cheesecake, equally as awesome). If I'm ever back in SF,... More

Cultural attractions, an independent arts community, sumptuous street murals and a high density of bars and cafes make this neighborhood a magnet for young people. While terrific inexpensive food is abundant, its top-of-the-line restaurants now compete with the city’s best for fashionable diners.
