This is the second place my gf google before we left home. She wanted to have a great experience & good food. This place is located in Nob Hill, easy to find and very busy. Ordered my favorite tempura dish and had an initial shock when I first bit into it. I've had really delicious tempura before and this just did not match it. It had a weird kind of zing to it. We also ordered the salmon teriyaki which we didn't finish either but the crunch roll was good!

You can probably find a some better sushi for a higher price elsewhere by looking at the top restaurant lists. This used to be a neighborhood gem because it used to serve hearty-sized special rolls. I probably have not been in to dine for a couple of years, but I returned to find that they reduced the special rolls to... More

Terrific food, beautiful presentation and excellent service! Our server even brought, with no prompting on our part, a different brand saké that was much better suited to the sashimi. Overall a terrific experience, with my only (very minor) complaint being that the music played a little too loudly for my taste.

The sushi rolls were very good, too bad we didn't understand what many of the other menu items were, as not all of them had pictures. The service was very fast and efficient. Overall a nice and not so pricey experience. When you're looking to get some sushi for dinner and you're on a budget, this place is the right... More

I have eaten here a few times liking a menu that offered a small meal for a fair price, under 15 dollars. I was disappointed in the manner in which a taste concern was handled at the restaurant. Admittedly I am not a sushi expert, but when sushi (raw fish) does not taste fresh I would expect more concern from... More

Price value here at this place was really good and the sushi was high quality. Staff was super friendly. We were seated at the bar where we could actually watch how the sushi was being prepared for us. Would recommend to people to go there, however the atmosphere is not the nicest...

Very delicious food! My brother and I was looking for some sushi in San Francisco, which got us to Nara Sushi. At our time in San Francisco we stayed at hotel hilton, and we didn't want to eat on the hotel. So we decided to eat on Nara Sushi, which was our best decision ever. Fantastic service, and fantastic food!... More

We had a nice mix of dishes, the fish is fresh and plentiful -representing generous portions. Sushimi combo, two rolls -spicy salmon and 'cherry blossom' with seaweed and cucumber salad -a nice, fresh meal!

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
