We had to try the ice cream - it's rated one of the top 20 in the U.S. We were not disappointed. From basil to burnt brown sugar, this ice cream delivered. We walked with our cones over to Alamo Square and looked at the painted ladies. The perfect way to spend an afternoon!

There's definitely a few ice cream shops in the city and this one I must say comes in fourth (my ranking) tied with Mr and Mrs Misc. Is it worth the long line ... Well all the other top ice cream shops will have the same line ... So yes it is. Worth trying but not dying for.

I won't say is not a good ice-cream. We went on a Saturday afternoon and we had to wait for half an hour, I will rate it as an average ice-cream.

The number of unique flavors here and also traditional are amazing. For example, two of my favorites here are Balsamic Strawberry on the unique side, and on the traditional green tea ice cream. Its always difficult to decide and they do allow one to sample. The lines can be long here, but the ice cream is always deliscious and good.... More

The creme brulee flavor is out of this world, we went twice in 3 days, highly recommended! And in the process cross off one of the best places to have ice cream in the world....

Wow, my husband wanted ice cream or frozen yogurt we were told we had to try here as we were so close. After our meal Saturday night we made it a point to stop on the way back to our room. It was everything we had been told if not better

Yes, the ice cream was delicious. But the gluten-free cone was heavenly! Tasting was done with metal spoons. I liked the sustainability efforts. Thank you Bi-Rite!

Tried 4 flavours of ice cream and they were all delicious. 2 scoops of ice-cream for $4 is also a very reasonable price for ice-cream of this quality.

I have to say that I wasn't that impressed by Bi-Rite. My wait was not long at all, maybe 10 mins. I was with a few people so we all got different flavors and I tried most of what was offered that day. After living in Portland for a few months, and being spoiled by Salt & Straw Ice Cream,... More

A little expensive but good. Stood in line for a while but the line moves quickly. If it's rainy or cold you might want to try a different day. While we waited we had a great view of the fog rolling in....but careful ....the temperature dropped about 20 degrees as it arrived!
