I have been pleasantly surprised only a few times when visiting landmarks. Everyone's idea of a cool is obviously filtered through their perspective. The last time this happened was the brunch served at the Royal Hawaiian. The Top of the Mark you have to experience for yourself. It is a special place. A comfortable eagle's nest.

I had never heard of this place again but I am so happy my friend brought me. It's classy, pretty, fun and the martini list was impressive ! I highly recommend stopping in for a drink or more.

amazing views. a must for anyone new to SF. Service was very good, food good too. It is one of the best bars anywhere, and the piano player was dramatic and fun at the same time. Everyone there seems to feel lucky to be there.

Went for drinks - wasn't very impressed. We did walk from Pier 39 so maybe I'm a little bitter about the hike up the very steep hill (lol!). Maybe it was the table next to us that had their children climbing on the windowsills (can't believe the manger allowed that in a place like this). I just didn't feel the... More

The top of the Mark definitely rests on it's reputation. The view for evening drinks was quite good. The service was a little bit lacking. The drink menu refers to everything as a "martini", though there are some interesting liquor combinations that are known by other names. Just soak in the atmosphere and the view.

Make a reservation before going to the hotel. It is situated on the top of the higher grounds of the city so if you decide to walk then be prepare to climb. The view of the city is stunning. This is essentially the purpose of the visit. We were there for dinner and the menu only serve light dinner. So,... More

This is one of the most historic and well known spots in San Francisco. The view is unparalleled. We went there late night for drinks. The hotel and The Top of the Mark are certainly worth the trip if you have never been there. The service and drinks were not part of the great experience though. The staff we encountered... More

From the surly welcome at the top of the elevator, to the businesslike treatment by the wait staff, this venue made me feel like I should be grateful that they could find us a seat. The menu made a big deal about the long history of repeat customers...that's not a right, it's an earned privilege.

We stayed at the Mark Hopkins during the Christmas season a couple of years ago and had breakfast every morning at the Top of the Mark. More than I usually pay for breakfast, but it was WORTH it. The food was great, service excellent, the view of the city and the bay is unbelievable. It moves, but very slowly so... More

360 degree views of the city- especially beautiful at sunset over a few cocktails. The sloe 75 is really delicious. Although the drinks and the view were great, we ordered a mezze sharing plate between 3 which was disappointingly small...stick with the drinks.
