Went here for lunch. Very small but very cool and almost hidden spot in Hayes Valley. The food was delicious and everything is made right in front of you. Very fresh and great quality food. I wish I had more of an appetite as I would have liked to try more of the menu-but after the burger I was full.... More

Loved our dinner there last night. The location on Hayes street is great - so many fun shops and things to see there. A vibrant a great neighbourhood. Engaging and personal waiters explained the daily menu and we settled on the prusciutto ham with chestnuts and the swordfish-toast. Both lovely and flavourful. For our mains we had a wonderful quail... More

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. Reservations are a must because it's both small and popular. Staff was very nice. Menu is limited, but we ate all 3 entrees (salmon, chicken, lamb chops), and they were all good, particularly the chicken which was phenomenal.

Nice atmosphere, very good food. Innovative menu, changes every day. Ask about the specials. Wine was fairly priced, food too. Gets crowded, and wait staff very pleasant. Sometimes hard to get their attention when the crowds descend. Make sure to make reservations.

Unique atmosphere, authentic food and charming personnel. It is difficult to get a place if you have no reservation but worth waiting if you like an individual, non-standard offer and have the flexibility to eat what's proposed on the blackboard. It was our second time there after a first visit two years ago and it kept its promise.

The food was alright, the wine pretty good, service was good, but great that you can sit outside. Would I storm back... probably not. The price value is not there.

After a recommendation from a SF "local", our group of 6 East coasters were fortunate to get a table on a Saturday night. The service was outstanding; the servers were friendly, knowledgable and attentive. The "Cruise Director" Amy is a gem!!! All 6 of us had different items and we were all amazed at the good quality and preparation of... More

We stopped in for a relaxed lunch. Fun vibe to the place and surrounding area. Wish they had just a couple more menu items, but everything we had was delicious. My salad had a champaign reduction salad dressing-out of this world. We split the flour less chocolate cake for dessert-perfect! Definitely worth the trip to this cool neighborhood.

I heard about Bar Jules by searching for a place to eat near a theater where we would be attending a show, and although its a bit of a hike up Hayes to get to Bar Jules, it is definitely worth it. Small with a lot of character, Bar Jules is bistro-like, with chalkboard menus on the wall and handwritten... More

Tried this place while on a business trip in SF ... other than the ridiculous wait to use the restroom I thought the atmosphere and food was good. A little noisy, but that is to be expected in a small space, food was worth the wait to get in to the restaurant. My friend and I shared our dishes (family... More
