Ramen Lunch

Went for lunch (a bit after the lunch rush). Typical of a ramen place it was pretty busy with small tables. Considering the size of SF's Japanese population I was expecting something different from Toronto but to be honest, I think any of the Toronto places are just as good.

I attended a developer conference in SFO and ate here 4 out of 5 nights that I stayed here. It is right in front of Clift Hotel where I was staying. They had a wide variety of ramen to choose from but I must say the Katana-ya ramen on miso broth is the best!

Tasty ramen at a decent price. Get on the list, it's worth the wait. Good portions, you will not go away hungry.

This is a good inexpensive choice when you're near Union Sq. They have loads of choice and some interesting set meal deals. I had the kimchi ramen and it was a big bowl of hearty and warming ramen. Good quick service and friendly staff - would definitely recommend when looking for a casual meal in SF.

Its hard to choose from the dozens of variations of ramen served here. We arrived at this tiny place near Union square just after opening and were able to get a table without much wait. The 3 of us did not mind rubbing shoulders as we huddled over our delicious steaming bowls of Ramen. I prefer the spicy, rich broth... More

You like ramen? go to Katana-YA, I had one of the best ramen ever and an amazing octopus apetizer, the place is small so you'll probably have to wait but they seem very efficient in seating people.

Our group of four really enjoyed our meal here . The service was friendly and efficient. As there is limited seating for groups we were seated at the bar and enjoyed helpful chats with one of the sushi cooks working there.

My wife and daughter wanted ramen on Xmas eve so we walked to this place from our downtown hotel. Extremely small place, no waiting area. You write your name on a clipboard outside the restaurant and when a table opens up, they come out and get you. Fortunately it wasn't a long wait for us as they do like to... More
