Had the ramen... Very tasty and balanced flavored. Good vibe! Excellent service! You will maybe have a little wait outside and the tables are nice and cramped but it's totally worth it. They will see again.

I can't believe the reviews the others have given. This place is mediocre at best. Limp ramen noodles and store-bought gyoza. It'll be quickly out of biz if it was in NYC. But then again, this is SFO. People must be tolerant.

Katana-ya is simply great. I tried the Katanaya Ramen and the combo Udon-Unagi and I felt really satisfied (even if one more unagi slice would be appreciated). As a small surprise, I saw a nice Nigiri Toro offer at only 6.5$ (two pieces). I tried it and ... it was so delicious. Restaurant is really small and the service is... More

Arrived at my hotel late and hungry but unsure what would be open late at night. Katana-ya is open till 2am. A smallish restaurant with capacity for about 25, the servers were welcoming and seated me quickly. The menu is pretty extensive, but I went for a bowl of ramen with spicy soy broth and pork loin as well as... More

I'm not a ramen noodle fan. But with a little help from someone sitting next to me at the bar, I enjoyed a great ramen noodle dinner. My suggestion would be to get the pot stickers and the chicken on the side if you don't want them swimming in the broth. This was one of the best values for dinner... More

I had only half an hour for my lunch in the middle of a very stressful day. Got my order really fast, nice thick pieces of sashimi, friendly service. Thank you, really made my day.

I don't have anything else than sushi for Japanese food in my home town. I tried this place while visiting San Francisco and it brought me back memories of some time I spent in Japan a long time ago. I had the BBQ ramen with miso broth and it was quite good. I can't really compare to other places in... More

After walking a mile plus on SF hilly roads with empty stomachs we finally made it to Katana-ya. This place is he real deal. The amenities were not anything to write home about but we went there for good ramen so who cares. My wife and I ordered the Katana-ya Ramen and our friend ordered the Fried Chicken Ramen. The... So it's the BBQ pork ramen all the way! Choose the miso broth & extra spicy if you enjoy spice without it being blow your head off spicy! So delicious. Waiting on Geary can be a touch sketchy with all sorts bombarding you for money but hang around this place is worth it!
