It took the girl working the front door at least 10min to acknowledge us at the door because she was chatting with a friend ,setting the tone for our visit to the Crab House. We had a reservation , however it was not busy at 5:30pm so getting a table will not be hard even without a reservation. We were... More

If all you want is good Dungeness crab, a cold beer and a nice view you can't go wrong at the Crab House. The decor is kitschy and outdated but you expect that in the Fisherman's Wharf tourist trap however the crab is delicious.

I didn't expect much from this place on the touristy Pier 39, but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Good service and atmosphere in this place. There was no wait for our party of five, which, at 1pm-ish on a weekday is unusual for anywhere decent in SF. However, the queues had certainly built up by the... More

We had a great lunch at the restaurant at the pier. Luckily we got a table at the window and could see Alcatraz, sadly it was really loud and crowded. But the seafood was great and I would recommend going there!

Took my wife here to celebrate her birthday. We had the crab feast and it was great. Our server was good although we thought she missed an opportunity to tell us that the feast did not come with any sides (like vegetables). It would have been a far complete meal from the start. Be prepared for some noise levels -... More

I had reserved expectations when looking for a place to eat at Pier 39. Touristy attractions don't normally have the caliber of food I'm looking for. We stumbled upon the Crab House and I have to say it is the best dungeness crab I have ever eaten. We have had dungeness in restaurants in Boston, Cape May, etc. on the... More

We had an enjoyable lunch at the Crab House - very busy, but not a long wait for a table - had the whole Dungeness crab, which was big and tasty. The fries had a lot of garlic on them (perhaps a bit too much?). Good choices on the menu for the kids + fresh vegetables available. Nice views across... More

It was our pleasure taking care of your family! Glad you guys enjoyed the crab and fries. We are big garlic fans, but know that not everyone shares that same love, so I'll definitely keep your comments in mind for the future. Make sure you swing by the next time you are in town! Sincerely, Dan More

At Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf, you cant o wrong looking for crabs. But everyone say Crab House is the best so I had to give them a try. The price was kind of high compare to the crabs that the vendors are selling on street. I'm not really a crab person so I guess it was ok.

I'm disappointed we weren't able to blow you away. We use fresh Dungeness crab, which does make the prices a little higher than what you would find on the street, but we think the quality is absolutely worth it. If crab isn't your thing, maybe you should consider giving one of our fish dishes a try -- can't go wrong... More

We had to wait 45 mins for a table but it was table. There is nothing cheap on pier 39 and this is not a budget place but it was good. The food was delicious and the service good. A table by the window would have been better but the wait would have been hours.... I recommend you put your... More

Thanks for spending some time with us, Kevin. We know that every minute on your holiday is precious so we want to be able to serve everyone as fast as possible. Sometimes things get a little busy around here, so thanks for your patience. Good tip on grabbing a drink at the bar before your seafood feast. Sincerely, Dan More

We've been here several times over the past few years and have always found this place to be pretty good. Although, it hasn't been as good as the first few trips, we still find the garlic butter to be aromatic and unique, and perfect for the dungeness crabs. The mussels and shrimp are always a great addition to your meal... More

It's always great to hear from a long time customer, but I'm disappointed that your most recent visits haven't quite lived up to your earlier experiences. We want to make sure we give you 5-star service each and every time you come in, so I wish you had left a little more detail about what was missing on your past... More
