A table by the window, sunshine, beautiful service, a huge platter of crab and mussels to share with sourdough bread and Crab House amber ale - just as good as it gets!

What a great restaurant on the second floor of Pier 39! The prices are rather high, but consider where you are. The food was amazing, from the crab cakes, the crab Caesar salad to the mussels, shrimp and crab platter, everything we ordered was excellent! Our server was great and very attentive, a must visit on Pier 39!

While recently in SF we stopped here for dinner one night after seeing the Killer Crab on a table as we walked by. Service is swift and everything is al a cart, which the waitress was very snooty about pointing out. So, if you want anything with the crab, you order it. Overly pricy in a heavy tourist area. We... Nothing beats a night out on Pier 39, strolling and enjoying the sights, and we certainly want a nice crab dinner to be a part of that experience. We do want our service to be quick and attentive, but never at the risk of making you feel pressured or rushed. That's excellent feedback, and I'll be sure to share it... More

We stumbled into the crab house for lunch after a busy morning doing tourist stuff. We were seen to straight away and service was prompt and friendly. My husband and I shared the garlic crab, fries and mussels. All were really tasty and we got fun bibs to wear too. I can't fault the atmosphere, service or prices and even... More

Again, after a long day of being a tourist, we chose to eat lose to our hotel. I wish we had gone elsewhere. This is definitely a tourist trap. Wife had a crab lasagna which was so loaded with cheese and cream, she could not eat more than half of it. We felt it was over-priced, crowded, and with very rushed... More

I'm terribly disappointed that you and your wife didn't enjoy your time with us. We are a popular destination for tourists, but our focus is serving up delicious SF style seafood. I wish you had left more information about your entrees, and what you felt fell short. Did you mention any of your concerns to your server? Sincerely, Dan More

We wanted crab while in San Francisco and this place did not disappoint. We had the "Killer Crab" and it was absolutely delicious. The bread is a treat too. Nice and clean and the service was good too.

Located on the top deck of the Pier 39. Came in on a Saturday evening for dinner. I have patronized the restaurant three times. Each time ordering at minimum a Cuban Mojito. This most recent trip I had to wait to be seated. Wait time wasn't too bad. Host was fairly correct on the wait. Seated and menus were provided... More

It is a shame that we let you down, Denny, and I really appreciate you bringing your concerns to my attentions. We're always looking to improve, and a detailed review like yours helps us reach that goal. It sounds like the food was on point, but that the service left you wanting a couple times. Regardless of how busy we... More

Whilst on our honeymoon in San Francisco we were looking forward to trying crab as we had both never tried it. When we found The Crab House on Pier 39 we decided to have a go. We planned to have dinner at 8pm ish and we did have to wait 30 minutes for a table - but we saw this... More

Our group of 8 wanted crab after arriving in San Francisco. We stumbled upon this restaurant which was busy serving continuous customers. Four of us ordered the crab melt sandwich and all found it disappointing.....great bread, plenty of cheese but very little crab. Would not order it again. One person ordered the crab cake and said it was good. The... More

Sorry we let you down! It sounds like most everyone was happy with their selections, and that we came real close with the Crab Melt Sandwich, but that it could have done with a little more crab. I can never fault someone for wanting more crab, and I'll be sure to check with my kitchen to make sure our portions... More
