I had an early dinner at 4:00 and there was no wait. Had a nice window seat that afforded a great view. The hostess seemed miffed to seat only 1 person but I say too bad. It took some time to get service considering they weren't busy but once she came over the service became better. All I wanted was... More

We took our teen kids here and we all had a great dinner. It is in Pier 39, full of shops and touristy places. We had no idea what to expect but a wait of about 45 minutes told us it was popular. The crab was wonderful, cooked in garlic butter and the salads were awesome. It had a fun... More

Dinner here; wait of about 5 minutes and table by the window; overlooking the bay. Crab fettuccine alfredo was delicious, along with the bread bowl and chowder. Kinda pricy but everything in San Francisco is; touristy but that's what we were; tourists. Pier 39 has several restaurants; this one was good for what we wanted.

This is a nice place to go to if you just want a simple, classic meal with the freshest ingredients. I like the fact that you can get down and dirty and yet come up smiling since the crab dishes here are simply sumptuous. Well worth a try, sit by the windown and enjoy the view as you enjoy your... I had lunch here. Amazing drinks but that's the only thing worth while. We ordered a hole crab. Although the crab was tasty, it wasn’t as great as I was expecting for a place that has the word crab in it's name. The crab chowder however was delicious and if you go, definitely grab a bowl. The best part of... More

Food could be better for the price. Ordered double crab and mussel. The mussel was little dry probably because of how it was prepared. We could not really enjoy our meal as the music was way too loud. However our table was near the window so at least we had the beautiful view of the bay. Our waitress was great... More

Thank you for the feedback, Celine. I hate to hear you left us disappointed in your meal. Our specialty is seafood and to know we missed the mark when you came in is very disheartening. I'll be sure to follow up with the kitchen about your feedback. I know we can truly impress your palate next time around. Sincerely, Dan More

I had been here once before and just had a mussels appetizer and wine and enjoyed the view. This return visit with my family for dinner, however, was terrible. My daughter's fried chicken was burnt. Maybe not unexpected, but my fiancé and I shared the "lotsa crab" for $58. It came covered in the "special garlic sauce", which was very... More

A really good place to kick off a stay in this heavenly city. The Crab House is a happy, bustling, unpretentious lunch spot, with friendly staff and excellent service. I will not claim that this was the drop-dead *best* Dungeness crab we've ever shared, but it was very, very good indeed, and the garlic fries were well worth cheating on my... More

If you are looking for succulent, sweet crab, do Not go here. The crab was drenched in olive oil which congealed on cast iron platter. The supposed 1/2 crab was only skinny legs with no body. The salad was a pile of iceberg lettuce with chopped tomatoes. The crab cocktail was a little shredded crab on a pile of iceberg.... More

With a name like Crab House, you should expect nothing less than fresh, succulent crab. I'm sorry to hear your meal with us fell short of that, and will be sure to follow up with the kitchen in regards to your experience. Although rare, every restaurant can have an off day, and I'm afraid you might have caught us on... More

My husband and I went to San Francisco recently and when on Fisherman's Wharf we decided to try the Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant. When we heard it was an hour wait, we thought we'd just walk somewhere else. We happened to see the Crab House and thought "Sure, why not?" Wow, what a great decision! We got seated at the... More
