Perfect Brunch!

Cool Jazz and atmosphere while enjoying a simple traditional style brunch...Eggs Benedict nicely tasty, good birthday celebration spot...music charge worth while... a bit on the noisy side as most restaurants are....or the people are!!!

First impression: nice dimly lit decor, not too noisy, felt fancy but not overly stuffy. Drinks were strong but good. Corn bread, definitely the star of the evening. Shrimp and grits also really delicious and practically licked the plate clean. We were off to a great start. Then, the disappointment. The ribs were hyped up by the waiter and described... More

Ok, I watch the Bay Area show Check Please. And just before going to SF for Valentine's Day I saw a review of this restaurant. Curious, I booked brunch on Sunday. I sure didn't regret it. It was late, 11:00AM for breakfast, but that's when they opened. I was starving so of course I ordered the "bread basket" which was... More

San Francisco is home to so many great restaurants, unfortunately this is not one of them. I will state, that maybe this was due to the fact that the two times I was there (in the same week) it was for a large group of 30. Both times the service was slow and despite having free flowing wine, our glasses... More

If you are in the mood for authenic southern dishes this is a good stop for being in SF. Went there with a group...everyone was pleased. Ribs were de-lish. Corn bread amazing. Shrimp and Grits...reminds me of good eating joints in the Low Country. Atmosphere was up scale. Service was good. Only negative were the local homeless on Fillmore just... More

1st time dining & the scallop app was amazing & they should use sea scallops instead of bay scallops. I had the fried chicken & though it's not classic it's a good spin. Cornbread & herb biscuits very good. Champagne cocktails very good. Conveniently located next door to The Addition.

This was our first time back in a couple of years, and , it has maintained an upscale atmosphere. Now, the seating set up to close, making it uncomfortable when trying to walk, or move your chair. The food was reasonable good. A little pricey for the quality served. Choices on the Wine list was very good. Had a Zinfandel very... More

I read the TripAdvisor reviews and found them to be most confusing. If you are looking for a place with good food for brunch, you are likely to be disappointed. The food is decent and reasonably-priced. The egg dishes are all good, as were the burger and french toasts. The chopped salad was fresh but surprisingly small in portion. The... More

This is upscale soul food. It was decent. The dishes tried very hard to be upscale instead of trying hard to be good. It was okay. It wasn't bad. For the price I wanted more than okay. I would take the advice of my cab driver, stick with the catfish and the fried chicken.

I ordered the skillet fried chicken which was heavily breaded. The chicken was moist, served with whipped potatoes and heavy biscuits. I felt like I had a lead weight in my stomach. Nothing spectacular and I've had far better fried chicken. The apple cobbler was passable. The ribeye steak was smothered in a gross sauce and tasted livery. It was... More
