Poor service with a long wait, followed by cold breakfast which should have been hot. Replaced but still not value for money.

I read somewhere that lots of restaurants near the SF Opera House and adjacent performing centers tended to take advantage of location by overpricing. This very pleasant house in an old hotel on Market Street is an exception. It was somewhat puzzling to find it empty when Open Table said that the reservations choices were 5:00 pm or 8:45, and... While staying at the Whitcomb we have eaten at the bar and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. A fab place staff very nice and knowledgable. We got some great recommendations for places to eat. The bar is also a fab place to relax with a few beers...daily as it turns out!

Our food and service were excellent. Somewhat reasonable for San Francisco. Located inside hotel. Mushroom ravioli, spinach, clam chowder, and chicken were delicious.

When the highlight of a restaurant is its proximity to rapid transit and view of a street with interesting characters, the implication is to look for alternatives. The ambiance was satisfying, the service was courteous but the food was so-so. We each had a Cesar salad and shared a salmon dish. The dressing for the Cesar was undistinguished (we think... More

Service was very good and excellent beverages and bread. The crust on the fish was so crispy, I had to use a knife.

Stayed at the Hotel Whitcomb to see a play at the Orpheum Theatre. Our car was tucked away in the covered parking and we didn't need to use it while we were there. The Market St Grill is a bit more stuffy than what you usually think of when you see "Grill". It's very traditional looking, with upholstered high back... More

My family and I had a great meal at Market Street Grill before seeing The Book of Mormon at The Orpheum Theatre. We live in the East Bay and took BART to the Civic Center station, crossed the street for dinner, crossed back for the show, and took BART home with absolutely no glitches. The salmon, steak, and chicken dinners... More

I loved the Kobe beef burger w/ a salad & avocado. It comes w/ wine or beer. If you're like me and travel business, you're expensing everything. The wine doesn't show on the receipt, in case your company isn't too keen on that. (Like mine!) :)

The breakfast menu has an excellent selection to peruse. Seafood Omelet with salmon. , shrimp and crab. San Francisco Style Eggs Benedict with crab and avocado. Service is attentive and very clean dining room. Great choice to get in and out on a schedule.
