Excellent food. Clean. Super nice waitstaff. Fun, interesting, funky are on the walls. Waitstaff eager to share info about the artist and the pieces. Very accommodating to special requests. Surprisingly inexpensive...2 breakfasts for under $20 before tip. Varied menu.

Visiting daughter in SF, she took my husband and I to Toast for breakfast. Had to admit I was a little skeptical but was pleased to find it was clean, open and really quite delicious. We ordered 3 kinds of toast. It came as three thick pieces of toast with honey, one with a pumpkin pie type filling and cream... More

The food Was average, nothing special at all. But what made my experience bad was the unfriendliness of the waitress, she was commenting our choices making disgusted faces.

The best breakfast ever. No wonder it is a wait to get in. Great little picture on walls of cartoon toast, Sorry got sidetracked! The french toast is great and topped off with strawberries even better. My group cleared their plates and we did not want to get up and walk the steep sidewalks after. Keep up the great work

My husband and I ate here 3 days in a row for breakfast!! The food was great and the service was amazing. We each tried the Omelets, the scrambles, Hash brown hill and the nutella madness pancakes. Everything was delicious!!

Toast was on our list of breakfast spots as it was recommended by Trip Advisor and was on our walking route. Full of locals so a short wait for a table. Typical breakfast of eggs, bacon etc. If you're looking for a fancy place - don't go here. It's down to earth good food and servide.

The site on Polk was close to our hotel, and knowing its other location, we HAD to have breakfast here. It did not disappoint. Food is well prepared, hot and not lingering on the pickup counter, coffee always coming, rushing but great people-pleasing staff. And did I mention there is a lot to eat ? We ate about 10 am... Only found Toast on the day we were leaving, which was a pity. It has everything you want from a diner. Service is quick and friendly. The food is excellent. If you are in the area try it out, don't think you will be disappointed

Nice to pop in for breakfast with local folks. Sizable portions, good menu, quite quick service, friendly. French toast was really soft and tasty, eggs done to what I asked for. Potato pudding lacked some salt and pancakes seems to be pre made and kept warm. Large bowl of fruit with pancakes! Nice overall. If would come back again.
