Lively (and noisy) place with great food and great service. The waiters are attentive and nice. The pizza was one of the best I ever had. No problem recommending this place.

This restaurant is great from start to finish. The staff clearly love their job and make it fun and exciting to be there. The food is amazing, the burrata appetizer was fresh and perfect. I had the veal for dinner and the sauce it came in was so good, I would have been happy with the sauce alone. The sides... More

This felt authentic! Greeted with a hearty Bupna Sera when we entered the door and kissed like family when we left two hours later. The food was REAL - squid pasta was my favorite. Brushetta was fresh, pasta was perfect and the desserts were worth every calorie!

Great atmosphere with lots of action. Waiters are constantly in motion getting orders, delivering food or singing "happy birthday" to their guests. Good italian food - definitely an electric atmosphere.

Superb dinner, one of the best Italian dinners I've had and we have had a few! Quality was superb, portion sizes spot on, and the staff were really really friendly and made you feel very welcome. Service overall could not have been better. As for the price, we were surprised how cheap it was! Highly recommended!

Me and my mum came here for my birthday meal. The moment we entered we were welcomed and made to feel at home, the servers were very friendly and chatty. The food was very fresh and all about quality over quantity and if I am ever back in San Francisco this will be my first stop for food!

We were in San Francisco for my birthday and chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner. Definitely didn't disappoint! Amazing staff, amazing food and great location. They even sang to me with fun Italian accents. I would recommend this place to anybody visiting North Beach in the city.

Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighborhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighborhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighborhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighborhood home.
