Consistently excellent!

Service, atmosphere and culinary product all are consistently excellent. Very good Italian-focused wine last. Don't sit upstairs, though! Kitchen ventilation is inadequate and you'll leave smelling like a restaurant kitchen!

The food was amazing! The salmon it was perfect, the service great and not at all overpriced like some of the reviewers are saying. If you want a good meal with a good wine this is the place to go.

The octopus was great. Risotto with duck. Fantastic. Great service. Make reservations though. BC we didn't and had to sit at the bar.

We ate pretty late here and it was still busy. Was able to be seated right away. Service wasn't excellent, as we found quite common in SF. Takes for ever to be approached and even get water or bread. In WI it's pretty much served before you are even seated. Service aside, one of the best meals I've had. I... More

I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS RESTAURANT CAN BE SO WELL RATED!!! We arrived at the restaurant at 8:35 pm, we got the table at 09h05. We all ordered starters and entrees and 3 minutes after the starters were on the table, they were able to deliver the food before water and the bottle of wine reached the table...so I decided... My husband and I have been to Perbacco many times, but it had been a while when we went on a Friday night with another couple. I'd requested a table NOT in the middle of the dining room as it is quite noisy and it can be difficult to hear others talking. They sat us upstairs, which was perfect. Had... More

Although I went in quite early, they wouldn't seat me in the dining area although it was clear that there was room. I ended up eating in the bar area in a booth (which I had to push for) and it was quite loud. I ordered the duck breast. Might have been good, however it was room temp so wasn't... More

At the suggestion of clients we visited Perbacco for dinner and weren't disappointed. In fact the entire meal was outstanding. For my entree I ordered the fresh tagliatelle with horseradish short rib ragu. It was outstanding. Others at the table ordered the Pheasant which got thumbs up all around. The table's wine connoisseur applauded the selection and the server's recommendation.... More

This restaurant has grown on me. I always liked it, but I find the servers have become more knowledgeable and accommodating and the food is awfully good. I am a San Franciscan. Perbacco is a great place for a business lunch. The service is prompt and the servers do not try to sell you more than you want to eat.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
