Excellent food - friendly staff

The food here was excellent - the halibut was a nice piece of fish properly prepared. This came after a very refreshing green salad - The desserts were also good. Many people in our group had a steak - which looked fantastic and all who ordered one seemed very happy. The friendly staff was very... read more

We took out-of-town friends to Perbacco last night hoping for an experience like the ones I've read in other reviews. Unfortunately, while the food was very good, the noise level made dinner more of a chore than anything else. No one enjoys shouting across the table for two hours. It was so loud that our server couldn't hear what one... More

We had dinner in this restaurant invited by local family. The atmosphere, the service and its cuisine speak of a place that has been traditionally at a very best level. Everything was good. Salad, pasta, desserts and a very good service.

Perbacco deserves a bigger reputation than it currently enjoys. We had not intended to go there but were late making reservations having just got into town and followed a friend's recommendation. No regrets at all. Really good wine list, food to match and although several dishes were out - they were pretty overrun that night - we enjoyed everything.

I had a business dinner here and the food did not disappoint. The menu is solid. The execution of the meals was great. We had a risotto, duck, fish and pasta, the choices all excellent. Appetizers, salads and desserts were really nice too. But I gotta let the owner know...your server, who we were unlucky to get, doesn't care about... More

On a Friday night, the place was packed and noisy, but service was excellent, the food almost consistently very good, and the selection of wines (CA + Italian only) extensive. We started by sharing two appetizers: white asparagus, and a "fritto" with shrimp and beans. Both very good! The most appreciated main courses were quail and pappardelle, both excellent. The... Every course was excellent - fabulous tuna crudo; seasonal fresh greens salad; gnocci; lamb ragu; plus an excellent chocolate mouse. Great wine selection and service. Well done,

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
