Great Restaurant

Wonderful Restaurant in an easy to get to location. Food was excellent (little pricey but what isn't in SF) We did not have reservations so sat at the bar and drank and ate. Bartender friendly and informative

A lovely menu portends the excellent dining experience. There are many varieties of seafood available. The appetizers of fried seafood or salads were nicely prepared and presented. The halibut was beautifully prepared. The service was attentive and added to the delight of the evening.

San Francisco has a multitude of great dining establishments and especially Italian cuisine. I've had two opportunities for dinner at Perbacco and the food was great on both occasions. We shared several pasta plates for apetizers that I was regretting not making a meal out of. But the main courses we're all fabulous.

Definitely reserve ahead of time to ensure a table. We loved our meal here, absolutely delicious. Loved the salumi starter the gnocchi, the pasta etc. All of it was simply devine. Would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

Our party of 4 was placed at an upstairs table overlooking the kitchen where we were assaulted by odors, often unpleasant, throughout the evening. The raw tuna starter was very tasty and the pasta in a veal meat sauce was quite good. The stuffed quail entree was a major disappointment, dry and unpleasant. The wait staff was attentive and personable.

I recommend this restaurant for your special night. My husband and I went there for St. Valentine's day. The atmosphere and service as well as the food are great at this restaurant. We ordered salami plates, signature pasta, quail and scallop followed by pumpkin bread. All the dishes were great. My husband liked their signature pasta best. I liked scallop... More

Easily the best meal I've had sitting on a bar stool in years! I'd come back to this restaurant for the delicious food items, which are described in minute detail on the menu and well-explained. The wine by the glass (expensive, like everything else here, but also excellent) paired perfectly with a Gnocci dish that was...well, if I said it... More

I always do a lot of homework when we travel to find places that are new and exciting restaurants. Perbacco looked as though it would be a great place. We made a reservation for our Valentine's dinner. We were met at the door by the most unpleasant hostess I've ever encountered. She was rude, snotty and apparently having a bad... More

They were able to accommodate the 3 of us right away. Excellent wine suggestions. The appetizer burrata was fresh and tasty, the fritto misto was perfectly cooked. The duck was lean and crispy. The ribs were moist and tender. Everything was perfect.

Anytime we have a trip to SF planned, Perbacco is always the first place we call to book a dinner reservation....and this time was the best yet! We had a party of 8 and our server was wonderful! His explanation of all the dishes was thorough and he helped each of us through our decision making process! The sea bass... More

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
