Surprise in San Francisco

We went late to have a light meal. The four of us were so pleased with great food and wonderful service. We ordered 3 side dishes then appetizers for our entrees. All of the food was delicious and beautiful presentation.

Very busy and many large groups so a lot of noise factor. Great service, pasta was disappointing as wasn't el dente and they had no tomato pomodoro sauce, but everything else was very good. True to northern Italy. Recommend reservations as very busy on a Thursday night. Huge space on two floors so able to accommodate large groups.

This was my 2nd time at Perbacco. The first was a business luncheon that left a fabulous impression. The freshness of the food is outstanding and I was not disappointed on this follow up visit. Excellent wine suggestions and delicious food. Creative without being over the top, with lovely presentation and the waitstaff was fun and entertaining. A must if... More

A good Italian restaurant which delivers on its promise. Good value and nothing oversold, however, if you want to push the boat, go ahead. Good and very polite service, enjoyable cuisine, varied wine list, clean room and acceptable prices, but not cheap.

We showed up 15 minutes early and were seated at the bar. The drinks were creative and tasty. We were shown to our table on time. The service was a little bit slow, but the food was very good. We were also able to pick a very good bottle of wine within our price range. One loud person at a... More

Fairly large restaurant in buzzy setting. Enjoyed a delicious pasta filled with roasted meats, excellent local fish main course and panna cotta dessert which whilst very good was sweeter and heavier than one might expect in Italy. Friendly and efficient sevice.

The pasta dishes were terrific, the salumi appetizer was great, the champagne was one of the best i have ever had. The service from the waiter, sommelier and owner was fantastic!

I've eaten here at least two dozen times with friends and business colleagues, and had my law firm dinners and lunches for holidays or going away with the whole crowd. I've never been disappointed. Great pastas, salads, main courses and great service in a classy setting, old school yet modern. There is a private room upstairs suitable for a special... More

Service, atmosphere and culinary product all are consistently excellent. Very good Italian-focused wine last. Don't sit upstairs, though! Kitchen ventilation is inadequate and you'll leave smelling like a restaurant kitchen!

The food was amazing! The salmon it was perfect, the service great and not at all overpriced like some of the reviewers are saying. If you want a good meal with a good wine this is the place to go.

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
