Excellent pizza but overpriced beer

My wife and I stopped here for a few beers at their hotel bar, as this was the only place in the area to get a drink. Americano Restaurant and Bar is conveniently located near the Embarcadero BART station, it is very classy, and is a modern facility. The bar was a bit boring and the drinks here are... read more

Had lunch at Americano with a business associate. The food is decent and the lunch special (half sandwich + soup, or soup + salad, plus a piece of fruit and 2 cookies) is a good deal. My issues aren't with the food but two other things that may not be an issue for other diners. First, I asked my waiter... More

The view here is great and not just of The Bay but also the people! It was lively inside and on the huge patio. People watching and great food, I will be back here! The pizza is a must!

The bartender john was wonderful so we sat at the bar to eat. The appetizers were better than the meal itself. The salad and pasta dishes were a bit tasteless, but the fried chickpeas and artichokes were great.

I only met friends at the hotel restaurant, so I don't have a review of the hotel rooms. But I must say my experience with the restaurant and valet was a bit lackluster. I'm mostly disappointed by the high cost of drinks and the even higher cost of valet. The restaurant bar is very nice and the hotel lobby is... More

I dropped by to meet a friend for a drink and was amazed by how awesome the pizza is! The staff is really great and knew how to make all my favorite drinks. There was a good crowd on Thursday night and with a great view of the Embarcadero. I’m defiantly going back to this place.

Sometimes you want a decent breakfast. This place offers it and although you'll spend $20 it will fill you up and taste great as well.

We had a good meal with friends right on the Embarcadero near the Bay Bridge. Fun bar scene at Happy Hour.

Beautiful bar with outside seating, I got into town late on Thursday and got a late dinner outside. Kind of a place for beautiful people. Terrific views of the Ferry Building and Bay Bridge

We stopped in, needing to spend an hour somewhere before dinner in the Ferry Building. Absolutely delightful bar experience on the covered patio. Friendly, efficient service and great drinks. Filled up as we were leaving, with a lively crowd.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
