If You Need a Little Bit of New England in SF

My family is constantly on some food quest. In the past, we have looked for the best burger (from the perspective of burger, bun and cheese...not a gourmet burger, per se). Our most recent quest has been to find the best lobster roll in the area. Woodhouse doesn't disappoint. Quality roll with... read more

Went there from a friends recommendation. Small but very cool place more of a lunch place than a evening out place. I highly recommend it and city prices are very reasonable.

We found this restaurant because it was on the way to the airport, well, sort of. First time, I had the flakiest and lightest fish and chips. The fish was so good. It was so light, the crust was like air. The second time we went, I had the crab salad and I couldn't find the lettuce. The crab was... More

The normal schedule for my quick day trips to San Francisco usually include lunch at the Wharf, consisting of a whole Dungeness crab freshly steamed and a couple Budweisers. This trip I was determined to try something new. I had read the reviews and received personal recommendations that steered me to Woodhouse Fish Co. On the airplane from Houston I... More

Started with the oysters, east Coast fabulous! I had the cod and chips which was very good. My dining partner had the full sized Lobster Roll which they described as excellent! Well worth a visit!

Everytime I go to the West Coast - my first goal is to find a Fish and Chips restaurant! We walked all the way from Union Square on Market Street which took 40 mins.. and might not be up everyones alley. The restaurant is in Gastown as they call it - on the corner in an adorable building. Seating is... More

I've gone here a handful of times during dinner time and every time amazing! I've got the lobster roll and calamari! Both were amazing!!! SOO juicy! The bread is buttery goodness! Their lobster rolls are HUGE!! So you can actually even get the half instead of the full. It looks about the same anyway! BOTH bigger than any other lobster... More

Stopped by for lunch and the family had their excellent clam chowder, dungeness crab roll and bay shirmp roll. The clam chowder was excellent but not the best we've had. That honor goes to Spud Point in Bodega Bay and Splash in Pismo Beach. The rolls were excellent as well and the bay shrimp were huge to what we are... More

Great lobster rolls, calamari and salad. This place also has $1 oysters on Tuesdays. It is small, so the do not like to sit tables until the entire party has arrived. Service is efficient and food is fresh.

My friend and I try all kinds of places when we visit the city. I am a chowder and calamari snob. The chowder here was GREAT. The we're out of calamari. Oh well. But the crab cakes and fish and chips were wonderful. Seating was a little slow but we were there during lunch. All in all great food, and... More
