Elegant yet unpretentious-- a great choice

This place hardly needs my review, it's pretty famous. But have you considered having breakfast there? This was kind of a splurge, but we went there as part of a birthday blowout weekend. Yes, they take reservations for brunch! Without them you may wait up to an hour, so plan to take a walk for coffee or just hang out... More

I was visiting town for just a day and was lucky enough to get a reservation here for dinner with six friends. I was looking for something nice, since I don't get to see my SF friends very often, and googled "best restaurants SF" and Nopa came up again and again. After eating their, I'd say it's well deserved. Between... More

Amazing place!! We really went for the vibe and the atmosphere, since not many restaurant are open for dinner at 22:00 on a Sunday, and that did not disappoint at all. Great crowd, the place was full, and very trendy. But what was even better was the food, that completely blow us away with absolutely delicious and tasty dishes (the... More

Have made two visits to this restaurant in the last two months! Made a special point to go there during both business trips! Great downtown location, plan to walk over if you can. Parking is available, just know that you may have to circle the block a few times. Enjoyed multiple small plates - small fish were fabulous! So fresh... More

My new Fave San Fran Spot! Hip trendy fun spot with incredible food! Most important thing to know - get the albacore tuna appetizer ! super trendy, not super dressy, think more funky casual attire. Book way in advance or it could be a two hour wait for a table. We opted to wait for a spot and sit in... More

My boyfriend and I went to Nopa the morning after 4th of July without reservations. I had called the week before but all reservations were full, so we opted to try the walk-up waitlist. When we showed up at 10:30 AM, there was already a line out the door! Always a good sign that people are lining up 30 minutes... More

We visited SF recently and we were on the look out for some good dining. We luckily happened to be staying near Nopa, and read many excellent reviews on it and how hard it was to get into. On our last night we walked down to see if we could get in, we had tried on the online booking system... More

With the long wait for fussy cocktails, the almost-pretentious atmosphere, and the expensive menu, I want to not like this place. However, I cannot help but love it. The food is very good, and the cocktails - though I hate to say it - are worth the wait. Staff is moderately friendly and helpful, but somehow the atmosphere still makes... More

Large two story space. We sat upstairs which is quieter and allows gazing at the hectic scene below. Great variations in the classic negroni with at least six versions. We tried two both of which were excellent. Well curated wine list with plenty if half bottle choices. Grilled calamari appetizer as well as duck egg were good. Smoked trout was... More
