Ah-mazing Margaritas!

This restaurant was the first stop in our San Fran vacation because it was close to our hotel (King George). The service was ok, a bit slow but nice nonetheless. The margaritas were some of the best I've had in my life (and I've had quite a lot, even topped some I've had in Mexico!) and the food... read more

Restaurant is on the small side but seemed busy for a Monday evening and a large table immediately next to us made it noisy. Enjoyed the Empanadas for starter but the Mole Poblano for main was not to my taste due to the sauce and probably a bad choice on my behalf. Enjoyed the Sangria and the side dishes of... More

Love this place! Just arrived in San Francisco and looking for a place to have dinner in the Union Square area. Their reservations were completely booked but they have open seating at the bar and small bistro tables. We were able to grab one of the bistro tables. They make their margaritas with fresh lime juice and one of the... More

Walked in with no reservations and sat at the bar. Server/Tender was ok on service. Had Carnitas for $16. Homemade tortillas were awesome. Meat was perfect. Salsas were okay. Over all enjoyable.

Colibri is an upscale Mexican restaurant; we loved the Margaritas and the mole poblano. Nice setting, a bit loud.

Interesting menu. Yes Mexican, but no taqueria. Very convenient to theaters and Union Square. Good service; nice ambiance

Given the ratings and crowds we expected so much more. Tables so tight together private let alone much conversation impossible. VERY noisy because of seating capacity and high ceilings. Menu not extensive but well presented if indeed pricey for serving side. Somewhat tacky to charge for chips to accompany a $12 guacamole bowl. Relleno dish scant and pricy but tasty.... More

I've been here to relax on several business trips over the years, and this time went with my wife on vacation. Super polite and helpful service. Glamorous bar with black & white Mexican movies playing. Tables not so glam, but felt v authentic for that. Very healthy and amazingly tasty Mexican dishes, with a nice long list of Mexican beers... When I saw how highly rated this restaurant was I maybe had too high expectations of an amazing meal. Don't get me wrong the food was very good as well as the mojitos. But it just felt to be not as amazing as I was expecting from a top 200 restaurant.

from the moment we walked in it was a buzz, as busy as a popular resturant would be. Service was quick and the recommended drinks wonderful. Then complimentary dips arrived which were wonderful, our mains arrived promptly and were amazing.
