We live a few blocks from O'Reilly's Holy Grail, and watched with a sneer on our lips as the yellow awning went up, the stained glass windows went in, and the bouncer took up his position as O'Reilly's took over and remodelled a space in Polk Gulch. O'Reilly's Holy Grail should not be confused with it's middle-class brother (O'Reilly's Pub) in North Beach. The food here was good and the service was slightly snooty but top knotch. Ambiance was excellent. We were woefully unprepared for the pricetag when we walked in, however. I know all SF restaurants are expensive, but Holy Grail seemed a little excessive. Bottom... more

Not too far from the Union Square Hotels and close to downtown this Irish/Euro/California mix come together spectacularly at The Holy Grail. The stained glass windows, wood and antiques are great but the food is the real winner. Try the Pork Shank and the Oysters top of my list more
