Very good Mexican fast food but expect huge crowds

You will be surprised at the crowds in this place. I was recommended to this place by a Mexican fellow who told me they have the very best burritos in town. These guys have huge reputation and do some good food, fast. Don't expect luxuries, I dare say it's lower standard than your average... read more

Fun little restaurant! Food was great! Tacos are really good (especially the fish), the ceviche and guac is really good too. Portions are good and pricing is fairly decent.

Lovely setting, efficient and friendly staff and tasty food. The only downside for me was that I thought it was a bit overpriced for what it served.

Very nice selection of mexican food. Food recommended for family style sharing. For mexican style food, we would return.

Loved the recommended Spicy Margarita. All good food presented differently and deliciously! Good service. Very crowded, which is a good review in itself and fun location on busy Chestnut St.

You will never have Mexican food like this anywhere else. First, the food is beautiful. We were waiting for one of the outside tables and every dish that came out looked amazing. The wait staff is so accommodating and once seated, even though it's not a big place, you never felt rushed. The Carnitas are divine, the Beef Enchiladas are... More

This place always has a wait around prime time dinner and HH, but has great drink options, amazing enchiladas, and fun taco options. Decor and service are both great.

the food was good but nothing fabulous. The prices are outrageous!!! $11 for a 8 oz margarita? We were visiting from out of town and met some local friends there. They took the liberty of ordering since they were regulars. We were quite surprised at the $400+ tab at the end of the evening for 4 adults and 2 teens.... More

Mamacita is a great spot for Mexican fare lovers when in chilly San Fran! It's location on treelined Chestnut Street , just a short walk from the Marina makes it easy to find and the warmth of the welcome and the hot food makes for a very good eating experience on a chilly evening. This restaurant has atmosphere. It is... More

Read the reviews so decided to try this place. So glad we did, we went on a Sunday night, it was quite busy. Love the decor, the place felt warm and inviting. The guacamole was delicious, a great start to the meal, we both had tacos. My chicken tacos were delicious, we were both so full but had to order... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
