Mexican food with a twist

I love Mexican food and love what the chef does with recipes at Mamacita. The margaritas are fantastic, guacamole is to die for and tacos superb. Cant ask for more. Service is good too. Great San Francisco experience.

You must go. Food, Service, Bar, wines and atmosphere were fantastic! A very relaxed, tasty and memorable experience. Our favorites were the taco's... They were no ordinary taco... Fresh, tasty and many tasty choices.

Nice but pricey and pretentious place but they could do so much better with the fish tacos. It was like fish sticks on a tortilla. No vegetables and one mayonnaise-type condiment. Boring and disappointing dinner. Waitress service could be better too.

I visited here a few years ago, but I passed by yesterday and it brought up strong emotions that I feel towards this place from a very poor experience I had here. I went here with a group of friends, we were having a great time, our server was nice. I got some tacos and right away I felt a... More

The guacamole was good. I also had the chicken tacos, which were alright but not great. I arrived at the restaurant about 5-10 minutes before they opened. There were other people waiting out front. But they would not start seating people until 5:30 on the dot. Me and some other people had gone inside before 5:30 and the hostess made... More

The only problem with eating at Mamacita's is not having enough room in my stomach. The food here is delicious, the atmosphere lively, the drinks worth having several of and the desserts - well, we ran out of stomach room. Part of what we loved about eating here is that each dish had it's own flavors - in many Mexican... More

This was some good Mexican food. We licked our plates clean of our plato a la planchas (duck tacos). Even the side of red rice was delicious! Needless to say even our shared dessert of flan was polished off in five minutes flat. The kids menu, though limited, was good enough for our 5 year old who ate more of... More

The guacamole is really good. This is a great neighborhood restaurant in the Marina District. Usually is packed with people after 6pm. Good happy hour menu. Try sitting at the bar-great service and they make a mean margarita. Tacos are pretty good! If you go with a bunch of friends-make a reservation in advance or expect a longer wait. It... More

OK so I haven't actually had much Mexican food in Mexico itself, but out of everywhere else I've tried on the planet, this is hands down the best I've ever had. Offering interesting twists on standard dishes, I eventually plumped for the beer-battered mahi-mahi fish tacos, which were sensational. I was eating them as slowly as I could because I... More

I come here about once a year when I am in S.F. Love this place, but I always go early before it gets too crowded and loud. Servers are friendly and very efficient. They make really good margaritas. The tuna tacos are delicious.

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
