Upscale trendy food

This is a trendy nice restaurant and totally fits San Francisco. We enjoyed the atmosphere, but the tables were a bit close together. The brisket enchiladas presented well, but the meat tasted a bit "gamey" meaning wild meat such as in venison. My husband had the tacos and still hungry afterwards... read more

The guacamole and salsa were the best we've ever had. He had the carnitas and they were absolutely amazing. I had crispy chicken tacos-- everything was so fresh and well-done. It's pricier, but definitely worth it!

Service was top notch and the food had deep flavor but the price tag is a bit much for mexican food. $9 for guacamole is high, $16 for tacos?! Equal to better restaurants out there charge a lot less. Tables are crammed together in this quaint restaurant.

Horrific treatment! Upon arrival, we were told there would be a 30-40min wait. We returned about 35 min later and were told it would be another 20min. We attempted to have a drink at their bar, but none of the bar staff even attempted to take our order. We went across the street and returned promptly in 20min. We were... More

Had dinner with friends at Mamacita's a couple of weeks ago whilst we were visiting through San Francisco for 4 days and it was the best meal we had. Great value, lots of options, service was excellent and they have A LOT of tequila!. I would highly recommend Mamacita if you like Mexican food.

It was our last night in SF visiting my two daughters and we wanted margaritas to end the long weekend. We started off with guacamole, queso and tortilla chips along with the margaritas. The guacamole was amazing and the portion was huge. The salsa that came with the guacamole was great. We followed it with the carne asada and camaron... More

Very good upscale mexican food. The service was okay but the guacamole and the rancheras enchiladas were yummy. The margaritas were great also. This restaurant is a little pricey but it has a fun, hip, upscale environment. My group had a blast and everyone enjoyed their food except for one person who felt the serving size was too small. However, I... More

Our last night in SF so we checked out Mamacita based on other reviews. Lively and busy with couples, large family tables and groups of friends. Excellent service. As we had never tried this type of food before we went with waitress recommendation to share dishes. Food was delicious and enjoyed by all. The Mamacita margarita is worth a try... More

A friend and I went here on a Monday night, and booked a table online during the afternoon with no hassles at all. We started off with guacamole and tortilla chips to start. The guacamole was amazing and the portion was huge. It also came with some salsa, this was pretty plain and could have done with a bit more... More

Brilliant Mexican! Amazing guacamole started off the meal very well, and the enchiladas, tostadas and tacos were superb! The meats were all very tender and spiced perfectly, and the portions were generous without being over the top. I would go back here in a heartbeat.

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
