Great enchiladas and margaritas!

This place always has a wait around prime time dinner and HH, but has great drink options, amazing enchiladas, and fun taco options. Decor and service are both great.

You will never have Mexican food like this anywhere else. First, the food is beautiful. We were waiting for one of the outside tables and every dish that came out looked amazing. The wait staff is so accommodating and once seated, even though it's not a big place, you never felt rushed. The Carnitas are divine, the Beef Enchiladas are... More

the food was good but nothing fabulous. The prices are outrageous!!! $11 for a 8 oz margarita? We were visiting from out of town and met some local friends there. They took the liberty of ordering since they were regulars. We were quite surprised at the $400+ tab at the end of the evening for 4 adults and 2 teens.... More

Mamacita is a great spot for Mexican fare lovers when in chilly San Fran! It's location on treelined Chestnut Street , just a short walk from the Marina makes it easy to find and the warmth of the welcome and the hot food makes for a very good eating experience on a chilly evening. This restaurant has atmosphere. It is... More

Read the reviews so decided to try this place. So glad we did, we went on a Sunday night, it was quite busy. Love the decor, the place felt warm and inviting. The guacamole was delicious, a great start to the meal, we both had tacos. My chicken tacos were delicious, we were both so full but had to order... More

A real average to not very good experience. There has to be a lot better Mexican restaurants in this great area. Even the salsa was tasteless.

We really enjoyed this place for their tasty mexican food. It was simply delicious and I was in love with the guacamole. The prices could definitely be better but I suppose it's because they have good food. Service was good too. Drinks were excellent!!

We had read a previous report about Mamacita & we weren't disappointed. We were told a half hour wait for a table but were well looked after at the bar. We were seated within 15 minutes & the food & service was amazing. An extremely busy place so expect to wait but so well worth it.

We dropped into this restaurant looking for a good menu, medium noise and good drinks. They hit all the good points: Good service, food and menu was good and drinks were well made. We will be back.

My husband and I love Mamacita! We were locals for a few years and this was our go to restaurant! The food, drinks and service are always excellent! We visit this restaurant now when we have the opportunity to visit San Fran. We always talk about how every city needs a Mamacita! We crave it all the time! Fish tacos... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighborhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighborhood into a party-going hotspot.
