Very Good Mexican Food

A nice variety of Mexican fare with an assortment of beverages. Highly recommend the Carnitas, a slow roasted pork with salsa and vegetables. Chile Rellenos was tasty with lots of different vegetables. The spicy garlic shrimp was also enjoyed.

This restaurant never disappoints! We go here before every Giants game we watch. The food is dynamite, the location is ideal. One of my favorite dishes is the Carne en su Jugo. It's like a soup or stew and full of flavor. The kids meals are large and priced fairly. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going... More

Good food, especially the stuffed peppers. Fresh tasting and good portion size. I have never been to a Mexican restaurant that charged for chips and salsa. For $4 you get chips and 3 salsas. The salsas were weird and the chips were so-so. Skip this unless you are starving. Service was a little slow. Restaurant atmosphere was nice. It's decorated... More

Know how they say location is everything? As Tres is right by AT&T Park, try not to go when the Giants have just lost a game. Kind of a downer on the atmosphere and energy level. Okay food, not a large selection, and a bit pricey for the end result. Drinks were solidly average -- and not what you'd expect... More

This was my second visit to the restaurant. The first visit was just the wife and I and we fell in love with the place ...this second time around went downhill really quick. We decided to bring the entire family for dinner, hoping everything would turn out great and that they'd fall in love with the place as we did... More

We went there for my birthday party before a Giants game. The food was delicious and they have wonderful margaritas. The ordering was different with a group. Instead of each person ordering, we filled out a form with tally marks. It worked!

Very nice Mexican restaurant near the ballpark. Stopped in here to rest and have a nice dinner while waiting for traffic to die down on a Friday afternoon. Have a vast selection of Tequila to choose from and the margarita's are excellent. The menu seems to be a little different from when I was in here last year but still... More

This was my second outing to Tres. The food and drinks were excellent. The room is nice and a modern take on Mex chic. Highly recommended if you are down by the baseball stadium and in need of tequila and a satisfying meal!

Weekend trip with husband, we were told about this place by a friend, so we dropped in at about 2 in the afternoon. Place was pretty empty but we were greeted with a smile by the girl at the front, we didn't want a table, wanted to sit at the bar so we walked right in. We were greeted right... More

Took my family here recently as we were visiting from out of town and have been here many years ago. It was nowhere near as good as when we were here before. Service was really bad as the waiter was not attentive and didn't know the menu. Some items on our dishes were substituted from what was on the menu... More

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
