We had pre-booked their fixed price menu whilst still in the UK, so we were prepared for a limited choice menu, just not so limited. They had one option for each course, alternatives charged for. Two of the fixed courses contained both pork and veal. Not ideal for anyone's religious or moral beliefs. I paid $8 extra for the cheeseboard... More

Discovered this cosy Nob Hill gem several trips ago and now we try to visit whenever we are in SF. Classic French bistro, perfect for a romantic dinner. The Cassoulet was the perfect dish one cold November night, but the rest of the menu won't disappoint either. The standout this trip was the endive salad with warm veal tongue. The... More

Upon arriving with a reservation, our table was not ready. After being seated finally, we were presented with a regular menu. When we showed them our Groupon certificate which stated we had a choice between a prix fixe meal or $50 of French Cuisine, they snatched the regular menu away and gave us the menu of the sampling of chef's... Having read several very bad reviews of this cafe by those using google coupons, i approached dinner with trepidation! Parking is challenging in this nob hill neighborhood, but good luck helped us find a spot just around the block-a good omen! The restaurant is very definitely something out of another age, reminiscent of european casual dining rooms. This is not... More

Walking in with a Groupon should not mean getting second-rate food, no? Well, it does. Instead of doing a full tasting menu, here you get a "Groupon Special", and by this I mean no compliment. Our deal was for "$45 for a French-Californian tasting menu for two (a $90 value)"; "tasting menus let diners sample as many as seven different... More

Staying in Nob Hill this was on our doorstep. Very pleasant meal. Exceptionally good wine. It says on the menu that they do nothing in a hurry - very true. Relaxing and chilled. Excellent.

My husband and I went here during our honeymoon for a romantic dinner. It was much better than I expected. The bread was perfect.. crunchy crust and soft inside and full of flavor. The rosoto was the best part of the meal! Sadly I didn't get to try the scallops as I'm allergic but my husband says it was very... More

My husband I enjoyed the tasting menu here on May 4th. The atmosphere was very pleasant. The food was excellent except the Berkshire pork chop was a little salty for my taste but this wouldn't keep me from going again.

I had a very bad experience at this restaurant for which I purchased a dinner certificate from Bloomspot. The restaurant was Rue Saint Jacques in San Francisco. When my girfriend and I got to the restaurant, we were asked if we had a Bloomspot certificate, which we indicated we did. The waiter then came with a "Bloomspot Menu" that ony... More
