We made a reservation the same night, and had a pretty good meal here. The duck for main course was splendid, the deserts were awesome. We had a perfectl helpful and knowledgeable waiter. The one problem was that the dining room was noisy - we were seated next to a somewhat loud double date, and the room carries sound pretty... More

Way too expensive and noisy. Menu was interesting but not in a practical way. Best thing we had was the duck wings as appetizer. I had chicken for dinner with faro and the meat was tender and nice buy VERY salty. Blade steak was tough and served on a brown rice cake that didn't really complement the dish. Nice people.... More

Saturday night in San Francisco is tough to get a reservation at the hot spots. This place is a good option if you are wanting a nice place and don't know where to go once you've exhausted your idea list. The food is good, ambiance is nice enough, and cocktail list is interesting (but short).

The seating here can be difficult so adding a good review may prolong my future wait times but Range is one of my favorites in the Mission. And this is my neighborhood so you get to know the gems... The places that are consistent all the time and worth the wait. Also, by day the restaurant is home to Happy... More

Had to wait a bit for our table to be ready and the final bill was a bit higher than anticipated but other than that was really nice with some really nice wines. Recommended.

Halibut was superb, green salad interesting and excellent, but the waiter was inattentive. So good, but could have been a better experience .

Range was one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Naturally, I took my friend there for his birthday dinner. We arrived on time for our 8.15pm reservation and were asked to wait by the bar as some tables "were just getting cleaned up." it took 45 min, a failed attempt at speaking with the manager and several exchanges with... We were so looking forward to trying Range. Atmosphere was great, but we were disappointed with the food. The chicken mousse pate and the glazed pork ribs were excellent, however the spring vegetable salad and the pasta appetizers were very average. The entrees were not exceptional, not what you would expect from a Michelin starred establishment. Desserts were interesting but... More

Went for a celebration. was not disappointed- well deserving of their michelin star. Great all around- the drinks are definitely a highlight, as was the pork three ways. the souffle was also really good. service was friendly and helpful. Great place for a decently priced gourmet meal with friendly waitstaff in a cool but unprententious environment

This place seems to get mixed reviews but we thought it was excellent and definately one of the better SF restaurants. The menu is well thought out and most of us loved our choices - the pork ribs starter was excellent as was the prime rib entree. Deserts were excellent especially the chocolate tart. They have an extensive and interesting... More
