Great bay view; down home cooking

This is a classic diner decorated in 50s style. Located in Ghiradeli Square, the view from the front of the restaurant and outside tables is fabulous! The sign said to wait to be seated; we were told to pick any table we'd like. We chose a table which had not yet been bused with a bay view. We were... read more

We enjoyed eating at this 50's styled diner that played some great rock & roll for us to listen to while eating. We had a good view of the bay, our food was good, & we had a great waiter. We've eaten at a few places on the wharf that we were not happy with, but I'd count Lori's Diner... More

I love diners. Although I am usually pretty tolerant of any diner's mistakes and failings, I found Lori's Diner in Ghirardelli Square Courtyard to be a huge disappointment. Firstly, service was dreadful. We arrived just before noontime and there were not many people there yet, but it still took too long for a waiter to arrive, and we waited more... More

There are several Lori's Diner locations in San Francisco. This is one you can skip. The food was terrible and the service was even worse. Restrooms were dirty. The only redeeming quality was the incredible view of San Francisco Bay through big picture windows.

The atmosphere is the 1950's diner. Very quaint! The food was quick, delicious and affordable. Great place for young kids. It was a lot of fun for a quick bite.

So many health code violations. For starters there was lipstick on my glass. Server was apologetic and replaced right away. Soup was cold, more apologies... They stuck it in the microwave. My family of 4 sat at the counter and watched a server dip a customer's used water glass into the ice bin, a server put together a salad without... More

The Surfers Special Tuna melt is a must have but warning, this place is almost always crazy and they do not have enough staff, so service can be sketchy. This might be another one that if you get their early enough you will be able to enjoy it more.

We had a positive experience here despite other less than stellar reviews. We had breakfast here and our server was nice and helpful. The food was good and the view was excellent. We would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Our group of four stopped here for lunch before visiting Ghiardelli Chocolate store. There were tables outside and in - both with views of the bay. We sat inside due to the very cool breeze. Two of us had burgers with sweet potato fries - very good. The other two had fish and chips - not so good. Looked like... More

Pretty much anything else in the area would be a better bet. This has a classic American flair with it's diner look, but the costs are anything but classic. $14 on Andrade for a sandwich was just beyond reasonable. I feel like I could have gotten a better meal for less anywhere near the bay. Limited seating, but good views.... More
