I stayed here for three days for a conference. This hotel is nice and from a different age. It has character. Not to be confused with the glass towers down the hill it has personality. The staff were always welcoming and very professional. The room was very clean. Especially the bathroom. Good size room. The neighborhood is safe and quiet.... More

this old tired hotel across street from Fairmont, the grand dame of nob hill, is showing its age. Often discounted on web travel sights, it attracts mostly foreign tourists looking for cheaper room. Beware of advertising on web sites...our room said two queen beds when they are in fact two smaller double beds. The manager says none of the rooms... More

My daughter and I met my best friend and her mom at the Top of the Mark. Breath taking views. Good bar selection - limited bar food. This is a must-see landmark in the city by the bay.

They really could make this place a bit smarter and encourage more people here if they improved the ambiance of the room and more particularly the staff who we met were very unhelpful and surly.

I stayed in this hotel just once on a business trip. My room was absolutely beautiful and the view was spectacular. We did not eat at the hotel and were only there for one night, so I can't really speak about other services.

Stayed here on a recent visit to California. Great location and good exercise if you like to walk up the hills! Very nice staff especially Anna in the club lounge who was extremely helpful in making arrangements for us. Rooms are nice and comfortable if a little on the old side but overall a very good experience.

Drinks with a great view over the city. Served by knowledgable waitress. Very friendly and fun. Cocktails at $14 not unreasonable given the location. Definitely a fun way to spend time overlooking this beautiful city!

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
