Spend your money else where! I am a Spire Member of 10 years and this place is a Motel 6 at BEST! Read all the other reviews! Corporate tried to rectify all the issues we are having since the front desk is not capable and they are still refusing to adjust ANYTHING! The rooms are boxes- we asked for a... More

It is always a pleasure to stay at the Mark Hopkins Hotel and we have done so each year for the last 16 years. We time our visits in January. the City is less crowded. Through the years we have come to know many of the staff and employees at the hotel. This is a major strength as these is... More

Room broken into and robbed during my stay, please read my review on Tripadvisor. It could happen to you! Very old and unsafe hotel plus their customer service in less than satisfactory. Please do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

We have been staying in the hotel and have tried this place for break fast and dinner and will recommend it. Great place. Traditional 5 star fare. Neat and clean. Good waiting staff. Nice sit down areas. Mix of proper sit down tables. High bar chair tables. With power sockets I might add. Food was decent and we have come... More

The top of the Mark is a delightful setting with great views of the bay area. The breakfast buffet is the most sumptuous feast that we have encountered in a long time with a seemingly endless selection of treats including five different types of caviar. While it is pricey ($85/person) I do believe that it is good value received for... More

We indulged in the Mark Hopkins, coming from a wonderful, yet exhausting nearly 3-week trip to China - It was Glorious! The Mark's Staff make one feel like Royalty, no matter who you are! The location is TERRIFIC!! We enjoyed feeling "protected", which was great, after a 13-hour flight; we both rested, and explored! Terrific access to the Trolleys, and... More

Good experience but a noisy one as we didn't get the top floor rooms . Room service was okay . Pillows need to be changed as too soft now . Bed was good . I went out for food as very expensive inside the hotel ..money money money ....parking is expensive and so is wifi !

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
