We decided to try this place because it was within walking distance of our hotel. We were pleasantly surprised. It is small, but the food is excellent and will not empty your wallet. I had braised short ribs that rivaled some I've had at top notch restaurants in New York. The hostess/waitress was friendly and attentive. Reservations are a must.

I am delighted that we made the decision to dine at Nob Hill Grille -- We truly enjoyed my dining experience. The food was delicious and the service was warm. We ordered truffle fries, mushroom risotto and the old macdonald burger. The food was soul food; it hit the spot. The service was smooth and caring. We will return and... More

I chanced upon this gem of a restaurant and booked in for our last night in San Fransisco. We were all pleased with the outcome. Cosy, it is small, but producing Devine food. They keep the menu small but special. My only regret is not finding it sooner.

We were visiting the city for the first time. We had spent the early afternoonon on a food tour and then walked all over Fishermans wharf. We were tired and a little hungry by 8:00. We didn't want to go far from the apartment we were renting, so we walked over to Nob Hill Grill. There are 2 levels, we... More

Great "off the path" find. It was a little busy and short staffed but they make the best of it and are still very friendly. My friends had the burgers. They were ok. I had a linguine worth a butternut squash special for the night. Amazing! Topped off with a great glass of wine.

Unique atmosphere, very warm owner or manager. Everything freshly prepared and delicious. Caesar salad was perfect, even with the anchovies. Small menu because of a small kitchen :)

I loved this place. Small, excellent and interesting menu, relaxed and efficient service, felt a million miles from many of the tourist places we encountered. In a two week trip to California this place sticks in my mind as a great dining experience.

Great meal n this quaint neighborhood. We did not want italian or Asian food. This fit the bill. Our family of 5 had a great time.

This small bistro had big flavor! The burgers were amazing-I'd recommend the sweet potato fries. Good wine choices and fun Superman art on the wall!

Very friendly staff, well presented and very tasty food and a nice atmosphere. A really enjoyable evening in a restaurant slightly off the beaten track and very convenient for our hotel (no cardiac hills to climb afterwards!)
