Although the prime motive for going may be the view you end up being pretty happy with the food. California style cooking in a very touristy spot.

Best view in the state, and soooo close to Alcatraz without having to get onto a boat. Walk by the masses of sea lions basking in the sun on your way in. Tell the front man it is your first trip to San Francisco and they put you at a window table. Awesome. Lovely Irish waiters were cheery and welcoming.... More

This restaurant had great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. I had the swordfish and it was very tender and tasted great. The service was good. It is worth the wait for the views alone.

This lovely little restaurant is located at the end of Pier 39, with the majority of the tables having either a direct window seat, or one that is a row back. Beautiful view of the bay, Golden Gate & Alcatraz. The restaurant has a simple menu, but with a pretty good variety - fresh seafood to burgers to steak -... More

We tried this place as others were booked. Clam chowder was as advertised and great. My daughter had sword fish and was happy. My coconut shrimp was good. The food was average. Little disappointed in the cleanliness of the restaurant and the service. You can't beat the view. Ships coming by and Alcatraz in full view.

We always go here when on Pier 39. Great food with great views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Bay Bridge. Worth the price.

Dropped by here for lunch and were absolutely delighted with this restaurant. We had a window table with a fantastic view of the harbour & Alcatraz. Service was very pleasant & helpful. The food was superb! The calamari appetiser, Seafood Pasta and Sesame Crusted Ahi were delicious and nice sized portions. Definitely a great spot with friendly service too!

Pier 39 is crazy and there is lots to choose from including chains. We were turned off by the crowds and looking for a beer and lunch. What we found at the end of Pier 39 at Neptune's was a fabulous view, and instead of waiting for a table we sat at a high table in the bar area. I... More

You can't beat the view and the two people in our party who had seafood, the sword fish, loved it. However, the flat bread and the french dip were pretty bad. I'd say if you're going to have seafood, try it--but it is expensive. If you don't all want seafood, go somewhere else. I wouldn't return.
