We stumbled upon this place in what I think is South of Market area in more of an up and coming neighborhood. We flipped a turn and came back to this place without googling or yelping. We took a risk and it turns out our hunch was a great one. I can't describe the menu other than it has a... read more

Our family happened to walk by this cafe on our way to ATT park to attend the annual Opera in the Ballpark. Took a glance at the menu and were intrigued: kimchee burritos, curry smothered burritos...we had to try this place. Our boys ordered a bulgogi cheese steak while husband and I decided to share a shrimp Katsu smothered burrito.... More

Great spot! does not disappoint! We stopped in here after a GIANTS game! The kimchi/pork burrito was amazing! Try the spicy pork tacos yum! They have some odd hours? check ahead before going, or you will be waiting outside.

Walked about 10 minutes to this little whole in the wall based on reviews...had the Beef Kimchee burrito. Wow wonderful flavor , great fresh ingredients, inexpensive and actually quite quick. The staff was wonderful and friendly as well. Only downside the drink prices were a little high so had the dreaded "tap " water which was just fine. If your... More

I love seeking out places that are not mainstream and are creative in their cuisine - HRD was a great lunch spot for this. I was not aware it was Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives - I had read about the restaurant on Buzzfeed in an article called: 50 Things to Eat in San Francisco That Isn't a Burrito. They... More

We were heading to a Giants Game andI had seen this restaurant on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives". We wanted to give it a try. It was almost a mile walk from the park but worth the walk. We decided for our first time to dine in. But saw a number of people taking burritos with them for the game... More

This is no 5star restaurant but tge food is awesome. I've never had anything here I didn't live! I think tge Kimchee burrito is my favorite. I have my boyfriend bring me one every time he's at AT&T Park. It's within walking distance from there. They have an efficient counter ordering system and small seating area. Try tge specials.. I had seen this place on "Diners Drive Ins and Dives", so when we were visiting the Bay Area last month, we were able to check it out. Small place, can seat maybe 20-30 people, but we got there before the lunch crowd and were able to get a table with no problem or wait. The kimchee burrito, which was... More

Both of the HRD locations are small, crowded and hard to find parking nearby. But the Korean burrito is done perfectly. Not cheap, but worth it. I hear the rest of the food is good, too.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
