Delicious food

Their food is delicious and spicy. I liked it 😋. The waiters are friendly. Parking is there but expansive. It is a good restaurant for Indian food

This is a great place to have a nice Indian meal with great service. The nan bread was great as well , in my group chicken tikka masala, a number of vegetarian dishes and a lamb curry was also ordered , no one had any complaints and everyone loved their food.

Gaylord's serves Indian food somewhat more upscale than many of the Indian restaurants in the City. Dinner is a bit on the pricey side, but the lunchtime buffet, frequented by lawyers and bankers working downtown, is a real bargain.

We come here often enough to resign ourselves to the reality that the service, while pleasant, is glacial. The food is generally good, but not a destination to plan a dinner around. The bar does make mighty fine cocktails, but don't be surprised at the lack of crowds in the evening given the prices and other Indian restaurants with similar... More

This is a good Indian restaurant, very tasty food and friendly, efficient staff. We went on a week day, quite late in the evening and were the only people there. There wasn't a great deal of atmosphere, but we enjoyed our food and would recommend it.

Embarcadero Center can be pretty quiet and lonely on a Sunday night, but we were delighted to discover an oasis of cozy comfort on the promenade level of Embarcadero Center at Gaylord's india Restaurant! The decor was attractive, and the atmosphere was quiet enough for conversation. We shared five vegetarian dishes between four of us, and each one was truly... More

After a day of shopping at the Embarcadero Center, this is a great place to relax and eat some authentic Indian food. I enjoy the lunch buffet.

I love Indian, Nepali or Bangladeshi food and have eaten it hundreds of times. I had been told this was a great Indian by a Brit so when the urge for a curry finally got to me I decided to try a takeaway. It was very quiet and I really don't see how it gets business because of its remote... More

My husband and I really enjoy spicy Indian and have been told for some time to try this restaurant. The food was good but not the best available in the city. My husband really enjoys heat and he even asked to be sure that his lamb would be spicy. While it was tender and easy to enjoy, it was not... More

This restaurant is in a building that also houses a movie theater with INDY type films. It is a nice quiet place to dine on weekends after a movie without crowds and hassles of big city. We enjoyed the food and the service. Our choice of Naan was not the best as it was a bit bland but otherwise I... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighborhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
