I love Indian, Nepali or Bangladeshi food and have eaten it hundreds of times. I had been told this was a great Indian by a Brit so when the urge for a curry finally got to me I decided to try a takeaway. It was very quiet and I really don't see how it gets business because of its remote... More

My husband and I really enjoy spicy Indian and have been told for some time to try this restaurant. The food was good but not the best available in the city. My husband really enjoys heat and he even asked to be sure that his lamb would be spicy. While it was tender and easy to enjoy, it was not... More

This restaurant is in a building that also houses a movie theater with INDY type films. It is a nice quiet place to dine on weekends after a movie without crowds and hassles of big city. We enjoyed the food and the service. Our choice of Naan was not the best as it was a bit bland but otherwise I... More

I ate here with my sister on the last night of our visit to San Francisco and it was hugely disappointing and frustrating. First of all, the food was very average. Most of it was okish, but we had some vegetable pakoras and samosas which were really bad. The only thing I really enjoyed was the naan bread. But what... More

We came here after a recommendation from our hotel concierge and were very disappointed. Firstly, the food was incredibly bland and tasteless for Indian cuisine, albeit inoffensive. The decor is very outdated. However, what really got my goat was that our waiter was incredibly impolite. Overall, he had a stinking attitude and was aloof throughout our meal. Also, we had... More

Food was very good - we had the eggplant, cottage cheese and some salad. They lacked in customer service.

Wandering around Embarcadero for some Indian food and ran into this place. Looked nice from outside with those brass vessels and antiques. The place lacked the tinge freshness. Looked old, and the table clothes were in need of some work. The beer that I ordered was so flat, like drinking water. They served pappadams and mint sauce which was good. The... More

Gaylords has been in the Embarcadero for well over 20 years and has outlived all of its competitors including Scotts and McDonald's. The food is consistently tasty and well prepared, portions are large and price is very reasonable. The service is attentive and prompt. We needed a quick bite before a movie and got just what we needed. This is... More
