My wife and I visited for dinner last week. We enjoyed the meal. Nothing fancy bit good and fairly priced. Bathrooms could have been better attended to however.

Apparently a lot of restaurants close early on the wharf during winter. After walking around we decided on Sabella & La Torre. Dinner was good, service was good, the clam chowder was the best. Nothing fancy, looked like an old diner, but the food was decent, and the clam chowder was good.

It's funny you say we looks like an old diner, as we have been around since 1927! Nothing like a hot bowl of clam chowder on a cold SF night, Brenda, and I'm thrilled you enjoyed ours so much. Hope you'll stop by again the next time you are in the area. Best, Tom More

Very good flavor and service was great. I went Saturday after Christmas so it was really busy. The staff was very accommodating due tot he season. You have to go here to eat....

Nothing better than warm chowder in a bread bowl on a cold SF day! What a great way to celebrate the seasons, and I'm thrilled that it hit the spot. Hope to see you again soon. - Tom More

Saw a long line so I figured that the food was good. Clam chowder was average. Few clams, all soup . They had ran out of shrimp and chips so had to wait for a few. Was ok, I hear Boudin is very good but there too was also a long line...

Whenever someone checks us out, we want to wow them with fresh delicious SF seafood. Anything less is a drop in our standards so I'm disappointed to hear you thought our clam chowder was just average. I know we can do better, and really hope you'll give us another chance. Best, Tom More

Not the best place on fisherman s wharf. Food was rubbish and not worth the money charged. It was a rainy day and the doors were left open so the whole restaurant was freezing cold.

I'm sorry to hear this! We've been serving up seafood on Fiherman's Wharf since 1927, so the last thing we would want is for you leave anything less than completely satisfied. I wish you had left more detail about what you ordered, so we could improve on it, but hope that you'll give us another look the next time you're... More

Not the nicest place I've eaten at but the food was pretty good. I had the seafood platter and my mom had the garlic shrimp. Prices were very fair and both meals included a salad or chowder to start. Great chowder.

Glad to hear you and your mother enjoyed your dishes so much, Veronica! We've been on the pier since 1927, and while we've gone through many updates since then, we still try to keep that old school charm. That said, if you have specific comments next time -- please feel free to pass them along! Best, Tom More

I love this place, it's definitely San Francisco. From the history to the food to the people who work here. I've been coming here every November for the last 19 years. I always recommend it to anyone who is visiting. Amazing bread bowl and chowder and the best fish and chips.

Nineteen years?! Wow, I'm flattered! Having been here since 1927, it's truly an honor to hear that you think we capture some of what makes SF so great. Hope you'll stop by next time you're in the neighborhood! Best, Tom More

Found this restaraunt to be reasonable priced and the service was very good and friendly. I had Manhattan clam chowder soup in a bread bowl and fries. The soup, bread and fries were all great. My wife and daughter had a seafood special with crab and shrimp. They said it too was great. A good dining experience at Fisherman's Wharf!

Had the seafood platter, diners are seated in little booths as it's a small busy place that clearly caters for both locals an tourists alike. Good food, not rushed and good service - a lot of the fish are caught locally. Visit the retro arcade on the pier nearby Mancinis I think it's called

Can't beat using freshly caught local fish! I'm happy that this stood out for you, as it's something we're really passionate about. The seafood platter is a great way to get a little taste of everything, and I'm glad it hit the spot. Hope to see you again next time you're in town. Best, Tom More
