Sabella and La Torre has been in its spot on the wharf since I was a child, and they are the same as they always have been. I love getting a whole crab and a bread bowl of clam chowder, and then walking out on the pier to eat it. Just lovely.

Sabella is known for its great seafood. It's been around for quite awhile and locals know it to be one of THE places to go when you want good seafood and especially good clam chowder. You always have the option of eating inside the restaurant or they have a stall directly outside the restaurant, along with all the other seafood... More

My husband and I saw the crab salad on a roll in the exterior display and thought it looked good. After being seated, we asked about the sandwich size. Waiter said that the sandwich in the restaurant was twice as big and enough for 2. That was the first untruth. 2nd untruth was that there was a lot of crab... More

We were looking for a nice dinner for our last night in SF. I expected to pay more than your typical dinner expense but this was ridiculous compared to what we received. The quantity of food was good but it lacked flavor. The kids got the chicken alfredo and the shrimp alfredo and both had not flavor. I couldn't make... More

While I'm glad you enjoyed our service, I'm disappointed that the dishes didn't leave you with the same impression. We want all of our dishes to delight, which is why we use the freshest ingredients around. We're always looking to improve, so please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more specific feedback about what would have made... More

A great seafood place on Pier 39, we called for lunch. Fairly busy and we more than happy to sit up at the bar. We had chowder in sour dough bowls, oysters and a couple of Anchor Steam beers. Perfect for our first day in San Francisco.

It's ok. I got the seafood pasta for lunch. Came with a cup of clam chowder, it was ok. I had chowder the day before from boudin and it was better. The seafood pasta was in a red sauce. It came with shrimp, clams, oysters, and squid. The food was only ok to me but the service was good so... More

I'm delighted that your server took such great care of you, but I wish your meal had left you with that same great impression. Food that is just "ok" is not the standard we live by, and I wish you had left a little more detail about what would have made it a hit with you. We welcome the feedback... More

First time in SF and after two days of trial and error, low quality over priced food in tourist trap restaurants, we decided to have lunch here. What a pleasant surprise! I had the best clam chowder ever! Restaurant does not look fancy at all but the food was great! Will come back!!!

You don't know how thrilled I am that we were finally able to give you that taste of SF you had been craving! It's just not a trip to this great city without some killer seafood, and I'm so glad our clam chowder hit the spot. Next time you're in town, you'll have to give the crab sandwich a try!... More

After wandering from Union Square after my cable car ride downtown, I finally ended up at the Wharf. I looked at all the menus and settled on Sabella & Latorre. Wow was I impressed. I ordered the dish with sauteed prawns and scallops. Left off the crablegs becasue I wasn't into getting messy that night; and I added a side... More

Such a terrific restaurant! It is not spacious, but the service is terrific and the prices are very reasonable. If you love seafood, order the crab louis. You'll end up with an entire crab!!

So I arrives for business in San Francisco and had an afternoon to kill. I have headed to the wharf on prior trips just to dig into some good clam chowder. Each time I try to find a different place and by chance this trip's choice was sabella. This was the first time that I headed into the restaurant but... More
