Our first stop was chowder in a bread bowl. There are so many choices, I think we made the right one. It was delicious.

It was good, not sure if it was "excellent", but we were hungry and wanted to sit inside and they had tables available. We stopped in just before lunch, and got one of the last tables open. I had mussels, kids & hubby had fish & chips, but the best item was the clam chowder. That was very good, and... More

While I'm glad you and your family enjoyed everything from the mussels to the clam chowder, I wish we could have really knocked it out of the park for you. The next time you're in town, we'd love a second chance to truly impress. All the best, Tom More

Ordered white clam linguine and it was terrible. Expected a light oil based sauce but got creamy flour sauce out of a can. Yuk. Partner got red sauce and it was slightly better but still not very good. Came with bay shrimp salad which was iceberg with tiny shrimp and dressing of your choice. The shrimp weren't drained so the... More

It's disappointing to hear that we failed to live up to your expectations. As you might know, the Wharf is known for providing some of the tastiest and freshest seafood around, so it's surprising the white clam linguine and shrimp salad tasted that way. We know we're much better than this, so we'd like to invite you back to give... More

Very small joint in Fisherman's wharf. Chowder was decent and the garlic prawns were good as well. Nothing that will extremely stand out on the trip but nothing that would not make me want to return.

While we're glad you enjoyed the chowder and garlic prawns, we're a little disappointed nothing really stood out. We hope you give us another chance. All the best, Tom More

Overpriced, poor service, low quality, filthy. Hubby's crab sandwich was like tunafish. French fries were straight from the freezer bag. My clam chowder had 4 clams in the bowl size that I ordered. Waitress never came back to ask how our food was and when I flagged her over to complain, she and the manager didn't know how to respond.... More

We were visiting SF for the weekend and thought to try a seafood restaurant away from Pier 39. I wish we had not! The portions are too small and it's overpriced. I don't think any of the fish restaurants on that block are tasty or are worth what they charge. The only positives are the bread and the service.

It's disappointing that we couldn't live up to your expectations, Michael. As you might know, we purchase our seafood daily to guarantee the tastiest meals possible, so it's concerning that yours left something to be desired. While you weren't impressed the first time you stopped by, we want to invite you back next time you're in town. I know my... More

The outside of the eatery was very appealing with chances to purchase food ad eat it right there. If you want to come inside and enjoy a cocktail or a private table the Host is very inviting and offers the menu to peruse. On entering and choosing a table of our choice, our server came right over and took our... More

We couldn't ask for a better compliment than that we have the freshest seafood ever! But then you hit us with the mussels, and the crab salad sandwich, and the clam chowder -- why you got us grinning from ear-to-ear, Barbara! We're thrilled you enjoyed everything, and we look forward to seeing you the next time you're on the Wharf.... More

Finally one of the not so salty clam chowders I've had during the trip. The bread was lovely but the fried stuff not so. Tad dry though. Service was prompt and not overbearing.

While it's disappointing that the fried food was a little dry for you, we're thrilled you really enjoyed the clam chowder and bread! Believe me, clam chowder just doesn't taste good when it's too salty, so we're glad ours was perfect for you. Thanks for giving us a try, and we hope the rest of your trip went well. Safe... More
