Clam chowder bowl

Good clam chowder sourdough bowl - no potato chunks but no seafood either - mainly soup but was still pretty tasty! Sourdough was crunchy and not too thick, oyster croutons were the perfect addition

I had the lobster roll & clam chower. The chowder was good, served with oyster crackers. Not a salty soup, not very thick or creamy. Not a lot of seafood in the soup. Very good delicious taste. The lobster roll was served to me on a toasted roll. The bread was outstanding. Toasted perfect with a little buttery taste. The... More

It's great to hear the clam chowder was tasty! And what better way to top it off than with oyster croutons. I'm glad you enjoyed things here, and I hope the rest of your trip from Australia goes well. All the best, Tom More

This is for the outdoor patio order- cup of crab cocktail is 7.50 can't complain since the Bay Area is experiencing crab withdrawal. We ordered a cup to get into the festivities and craziness of the experience ! Chunkful of crab meat ! Eat and try other food along!

Stopped in for a quick bite of calamari & oysters. Our waiter made the suggestion to get the calamari lightly fried instead of sauteed - excellent suggestion. Cap the meal off with two Anchor Steam drafts, and then off to explore The City.

Glad you enjoyed your waiter's suggestion, Brad -- lightly fried calamari is certainly a good choice. I hope the Anchor Steam drafts were the perfect way to start your city exploration. All the best, Tom More

We ate here twice during our recent, bi-annual visit to the City. We love this place, which is rather small, always bustling, and a whole lot of fun. It's always a challenge when deciding what to order from the extensive menu; everything is always fresh and delicious. On this visit, our meals included their awesome clam chowder, very flavorful chicken... More

Went for lunch on a break from conference downtown. Had crab sandwich on sourdough and a cup of clam chowder. Eat inside if you don't want to fight the sea gulls.

Six of ate here for dinner. The food was nice but nothing special. As tourists and first time visitors to San Francisco we had to try the clam chowder. It was very tasty and filling. For main courses we tried the pasta and fish medley, all were nice. Service was average and the bill was reasonable.

Used to be a favorite, now kinda run down with very mediocre food. The server was very nice, however the food did not live up to previous visits. It seemed very overpriced for what we got, the chowder was so-so, as was the fish dinners, mushy veggies, frozen french fries, and semi stale french bread. Was very noisy inside, Overall... More

Like I said on Yelp, You should expect everything from the clam chowder to the bread to be as fresh as possible. I know we can still deliver on the quality you've known in the past, so I hope you'll give us a second chance. All the best, Tom More

Sabella & La Torre is nestled in amongst a string of eateries on San Francisco's famous Fisherman's Wharf. The crowds, the city life, the smell of the Bay and the wild mixture of seafood aromas from crab pots and restaurants on every side make it difficult to decide where to stop and eat. Having tried many of the options over... More

We stayed in San Francisco for a couple of days prior to our cruise, it that time we visited Pier 39, there are numerous eating establishments there, but you do pay a premium. A five minute walk you'll reach Sabella & La Torre, a very busy restaurant, but we got a table straight away. A comprehensive menu, but why would... More
