stop in for an Irish Coffee

Had to try the Irish Coffee and a Nutty Irishman. Both drinks were rather small and pricey but they were delicious and pretty strong! Stayed for a late breakfast which was good as well but also a bit pricey.

Love love love the irish coffee....just wish it could be served in a mug about 3x the size!! Don't be worried if the front bar area is full, there is a cute little back room that holds about 5 tables that many folks don't know is there. Great for catching up with friends !!

We had our breakfasts here - very delicious burgers, original atmosphere of SF in 50´s. Their Irish Coffee is absolute amazing. In the morning it is pretty busy, so make sure to be at the door before opening at 9am

A must when in San Francisco. You could say it's all about the Irish coffee - try one - you won't be disappointed and you won't want to stop at one :) That said it has a great atmosphere - attracts people of all ages and seems to be buzzing at any time of day. We met some really interesting... More

I've been going to the Buena Vista since the 60's but this was the first time I ever ate there. Irish Coffees are excellent, that goes without saying, but this week enjoyed lunch there. Hamburger was great! Friendly service staff and great menu!

First time I went there was about 30 some odd years ago with my mom and we actually went back a 2nd time before we left for home. When I went with my husband on our honeymoon, the same gentleman was making the drinks so you know he knows how to do it!!! I only had a couple of Irish... More

They claim to have brought Irish Coffee to America. I have no reason not to believe them but, even if they didn't, they sure do know how to make a cup of the brew. They are actually too good because before you know it you have had 3 or 4 of them and can just barely stumble to the cable... More

I am not a huge fan of Fisherman’s Wharf, however, there are a few notable attractions worth visiting. One is the long-established Buena Vista Café located across the street from the Powell-Hyde cable car’s last stop. It opened in 1916 as a saloon but in time added food. The dining room is quaint and consists of an attractive long dark... More

We went for the Irish coffees and they were excellent. It is crowded but we got there early and squeezed into a couple of seats at the bar.

Back again for several Irish Coffees! Can't resist this place when I'm in SF! If you don't like Irish Coffee endulge with a couple of Ramos Gin Fizzes. They are the best on planet earth! Now the food isn't to shabby either but it's the coffee... Yes it's the Irish Coffee. Also, GREAT AMBIANCE!
