we popped in for lunch after end-of-the-line On Hyderabad-Powell cable car near Ghiradelli Square. We each had a delicious hamburger platter for lunch. Quick service necessitated by the need to catch the 1:45 ferry from fishermans wharf. Very quaint cafe, and fun!

I was with a friend and we had a few minutes to spare, we took a chance on getting in and walked right to the bar where our seats were awaiting us. It was a sign that I was going to enjoy the Irish Coffee I'd heard so much about. It's the best Irish Coffee I've ever had. I definitely... More

Obviously the Irish coffee here is outstanding, it's the best I've ever had in the U.S. The food also exceeded my expectations. I had the crab omelette with potatoes and sourdough toast, and it was really tasty and good quality. I had read some other reviews about bad service here, but that was not my experience at all...my server was... More

Great local place with shared seating that adds to the experience. The food was great and the people watching is even better!

Went to the cafe to drink Irish cream coffee after a day tour of the city. The coffee was wonderful. The place was packed but was able to find a place to sit. Service was slow but overall a nice treat for the end of the day.

The good...great location, great Irish coffee. The bad...service and seating. It's "seat yourself" which really ends up being survival of the fittest...or rudest. If you happen to go during a time when the place is crowded you will have to jockey for a table. There is no such thing as a "line". People walk in , walk past those attempting... More

On previous visits to SF, we always stopped by the BV for Irish Coffee. We never really though of eating there, mainly because it is always crowded. On this trip we haed to get off the street car in front of the restaurant right before opening and got in line for breakfast. We had the traditional Irish Coffees and standard... More

Fun stop before or after a visit to the Fisherman's Wharf. Excellent Irish coffee presentation by the bartender. Just feels like a piece of SF history.
