Arrived early for breakfast, place filled up fast. Service was great, received food within minutes. The crab Benedict and potatoes were great, huge portions.
The kids and I had some time to kill before we met family at the Fisherman's Wharf, so I took advice from a friend who had visited San Fran many times. He said to come here for the "world's best Irish Coffee". I decided to take the challenge! First of all, I had my THREE children with me and was... More
On a recent San Francisco week with family, I was bringing them here having had lots of good times at this iconic bar.. This is one of those places where half the fun can be the entertaining bartenders, This was not the case this time. We were there for one drink only because he was so cranky - and will... More
I was in town on business and a co-worker took me downtown for dinner in the Fisherman's Wharf area. He mentioned this place that made these amazing Irish Coffees and said I had to try it. When we arrived (random Wednesday evening) the place was busy, but not packed. We grabbed a seat at the bar and were greeted by... More
Lovely and quaint. Nice old place of legend. Full and bustling, the staff were experts at what they do and very pleasant. We got to visit twice on our 3 day visit to the Bay area. Will be back.
We went here for one reason and one reason only. Irish coffee! I can't say it was the best I've had but what a great atmosphere! Watching the bartenders make 10 Irish coffees at a time was worth the cost alone! We happened to show up on the 61st anniversary of that fateful date. Mix coffee, whiskey, sugar and cream?... More
Buena Vista was recommended to us for our San Francisco trip because of it's "best" Irish Coffee. The bartender (gray-haired and mustachio'd guy) was incredibly rude and unwelcoming when we ordered, like we were bothering him and he was doing us a favor just by waiting on us. We didn't bother staying. Fortunately, we found a local's Irish bar a... More
Every time I've been to SF, I've made sure to come have Irish coffee here. And each time I'm amazed at how delicious and perfect it is.......make time to have at least one drink here!! The atmosphere is cozy, laid-back, even romantic! (haven't eaten here so can't comment about the food)
The Buena Vista has the best Irish coffee around...anywhere...including "Irish" Chicago! They're kind enough to share their recipe with you. We've come here year after year and we are never disappointed. The staff is friendly and the food is delicious, especially the corn beef hash, fish & chips. The view is beautiful. Absolutely not to be missed! We came to... More
