If you are looking for a nice atmosphere and a great Irish Coffee then this is your place. It is a little out of the way but worth the trip. The staff is very friendly and the place was hopping in the Monday Night we were in town. Could be there was at least 20 of us!!!

You just can't go wrong with a stop-by this picture café and have an Irish coffee. Don't let the seriousness of the bartenders fool you, they have been doing it for YEARS and make them to perfection!!

This little gem is a super cool piece of history, and a "must-do!" Best Irish Coffee, but that was to be expected from the place it was first served! Awesome to watch the bartenders make them with such ease and flair. We will stay longer and try the food next time, it looked great!

This is down at the waterfront where the trolley drops you off. Known for their Irish Coffee. The place is hopping busy and I'm told that 10% of the country's irish whiskey is served here. Fun, fun, fun.

This place has been around for so long. I came here in my 20's and still enjoy the place in my 50's. They make the best Irish coffees and bloody Mary's as well. My friend and I arrived on a sunny Saturday and manage to get two seats at the bar. We had drinks, chatted with nice people and enjoyed... More

Arrived late afternoon on a Saturday....every seat filled. Short wait though with very helpful waiters. This place is famous for it's Irish Coffee so not be missed. A short walk up the hill from Pier 39. Have been back several times.

We always finish our night off at the Buena Vista. It is the only place that we order an Irish Coffee and it has never disappointed us. If possible we always sit at the bar to enjoy our drinks. Afterwards a simple walk across the street to the cable car and back to Hotel Union Square.

Met some family here for the legendary Irish coffee and lunch. The Irish coffee lived up to the very high expectations - had a couple of them and could have easily had a couple more. Very yummy. The food for lunch is priced for tourists, which is expected, but unfortunately it is not overly good. Burgers were okay but dry.... More

A real proper irish coffee outside Ireland. Often I go to San Francisco and that's the place I go to when I want to treat myself. The irish coffee is exactly what it has got to be: IRISH COFFEE!. Glasses always kept hot with hot water inside ready to be dropped out and fill the glass with the irish coffee... More

Seriously put this on your "MUST DO" list while in SF. I literally could sit there all day and drink these memorizing little morsels.. Don't know how the food is, although it looked great. I just want to drink the Irish Coffee from Dawn till Dusk...
