Fantastic cafe near San Fran Bay... Lively atmosphere selling food and drinks, but you MUST have an Irish coffee there.. Watch the Barista make a whole row of them at the bar... And there's no holding back on the whiskey!! Topped with thick cream... Absolutely delicious on a cool day watching the sun set over the bay! Loved the whole... More

Perfect on a chilly summer morning in San Francisco, one of "the coldest summers ever". Went with two friends and one had to be almost carried out, she was so tipsy. Delicious, do it. No, we did not eat or drink anything else. Enjoy!

Go here every time we come to San Francisco as it is close to our relatives. The service was excellent, great cheerful staff who are really helpful and understand the English pronunciation of water! Food was good, tasty and quick. You have to have an Irish coffee for dessert, it warms the cockles of your heart. Lots of old photos... More

Irish coffees the way they should be made. They use Tillamore Dew which has a bit of honey ( and I may have misspelled).

The Buena Vista is a historic and worthy stop for any visitor. The space can be crowded but staff encourage squeezing together which works. After a few Irish coffees all is good and calm.

The home of Irish Coffee. This is a really busy bar, the Irish Coffee is to die for and the staff are really welcoming and friendly. It’s one of those bars that you pop in for one drink and end up having three or four.

Every time we visit San Francisco, we stop for lunch or dinner at Buena Vista Cafe. It has a nice, varied menu, and the atmosphere is lively and fun. Seat yourself here, wherever you see an empty seat. We found three empty seats at a large table where another group was already seated and enjoying their meals. Our waiter came... More

As soon as you walk in you can sense the history. Great tavern and the Irish Coffee invented here. Bartenders are hard working and friendly a must rest stop after walking up Lombard and down to the warf..
