Hi as has been said before there are a lot of places to eat here, we are lunch from the bakery takeout service a few days ago ( great sandwiches high end priced) but this is for the restaurant. It's really nice, busy and buzzy but with enough space to stop other conversations interfering with your own. Great views over... More

Came to tour the bakery. If you eat at the restaurant on the upper level the tour of bakery is free! Upon completing the bakery tour we were seated for what was a fantastic array of delicious seafood entrees! Someone had the fish and chips - rated well. I had the Dungeness crab cake sandwich. Some seafood sandwiches are hits... More

We ate lunch upstairs in the Bistro. We got there around 11:30am, and were seated at a nice table overlooking the bay. Our server was pleasant and did a good job. We had the crab sandwich and the crab-corn bisque in a bread bowl. Both were very good. We were talking about the sourdough bread with our server and he... More

You have to visit this place when in San Fran but the food is not spectacular. We had better clam chowder elsewhere. It was soooo busy and crowded. We love the bread baskets that traveled around the room. It's neat to see the bread bakers in the storefront window answering questions from pedestrians.

watch the bakers in window. If you have time go to the elevator upstairs to eat. Quick bite down stairs

I love the Boudin special - about $10 for a cup of soup (extra in bread bowl) and a 1/2 sandwich. The best of both worlds, consumption conscious and budget mindful!

I'm reviewing the restaurant; not the cafe. I will admit this is a great, high quality facility. There's a bakery (for sweets), a cafe (where you order your stuff and go sit down elsewhere on the property), there's a store with LOTS of great food related items, there's a bakery museum tour and you can view them making bread in... Love the chowder bowls. If you have never had SF sourdough bread, stop here and get a chowder bowl, one of the best ways to enjoy it. They have many other great things as well. We get this bread delivered monthly to our Dad in Washington as he can't get enough sourdough. Very affordable for the location.

While we were there, they were installing all new equipment in the kitchen(s), so their menu was limited, but the bread was still great! Can't wait to go eat off of their full menu!

I had a great time having lunch here during my stay as it was very close to the hotel and the food was great. The soup in the sourdough bread, the salads, the sandwiches and pizzas were delicious! It is a fun experience as you get to see the original shapes they make with bread!
