I had to have the Chowder

The clam chowder was invented here. As such it was a must have during the visit to SF. Served in a crusty cob loaf and a meal in itself. Washed down with a local beer (dangerously>5.7% alcohol) it was a memorable finish to a day spent on Alcatraz and around Fisherman's Warf

We had a business dinner in the Bread Museum portion of the restaurant and so were not in the crush outside. Everything was delightful, with passed canapes and a delicious cheeseboard. I had grilled swordfish and others had enormous steaks that they said were delicious. We also had tasty fruit and custard desserts. Would go again!

After a day of walking and sightseeing in SF we looked forward to sitting down for a beer and glass of wine along with typical Fisherman's Wharf food. When we walked into Boudin we were dismayed at the crowd and noise on the lower level so climbed up to the second floor dining room. Wow! It was huge and busy... More

Two Sodas...one small dutch crunch loaf....for 15.00 yikes.....really. The linesssss make it not worth it. The staff also treats everyone like cattle.....barely saying hello, barely smiling, just taking orders and moving us along. I had better bread at a small bakery in Mission. My recommendation, venture out where the locals get their bread....it is far better.

I used the open table online service to make a reservation and accidently booked a table for the next night at 8:00. The hostess kind of didn't laugh at me. We decided to stay and wait for table. Restaurant was very busy but not a bad wait they have a nice bar area. When the food arrived it was worth... More

The soup in the bread bowl is not to be missed, and does not disappoint. The restaurant itself is of course a madhouse - always super-busy. But, there are hordes of people everywhere in San Francisco these days. Boudin's quality never wanes.

Please do not go here for a family or romantic experience because here it is nothing close to the atmosphere for this! Do not brother to reserve a table! When you come in you will anyway wait in line with the drop in guests. Food is ok - experience is poor! It is lot of other alternatives in the Wharf... More

We were looking for a quick bite in the afternoon and you can't fail to notice this large building on Fishermans Wharf. There were no seats availble inside in the Bistro so after ordering at one section and picking up our tuna on sourdough sandwiches pretty quickly at another area ( since almost everyone else was having the sourdough bowls... I recently had lunch at Bistro Boudin at the Wharf on June 21, 2015. I had the Chowder which was in a sourdough bowl. It was rather bland. It was a long wait in line. I would skip this place. If this review was helpful in any way click the "yes" box below.
