The experience was closer to 3 stars than it was 5 stars.

Although I'm a big fan of Boudin's, the meal at the Bistro underperformed in a few areas. Most shockingly, the bread was hard and mediocre. While the combination of fish tacos was pleasant, there wasn't the "wow factor" that I normally feel at a Boudin's establishment. Having said that, I would... read more

I ordered the tomato soup and Caesar salad. Both were great; Caesar salad lettuce was crisp and fresh and the salad wasn't drowning in dressing. The bread bowl was huge! It would be plenty for one person. The price was reasonable given the location too.

YUMMY bread, and fun to have the soup come in a bread bowl, except then i had a bunch of bread and no soup! what a conundrum. Love the little place located in busy downtown SF. easy to get to and find and they work furiously fast!

Ate at the upstairs restaurant, sat out on the deck overlooking the bay. In the beautiful weather, this was fantastic. All four of us had clam chowder in a sourdough bowl, there are two sizes and there is not much difference except for the price. If I had it to do again, I would have ordered the smaller size. We... The traditional Clam Chowder is delicious, we went back twice. There was a long waiting line, but it was worth it to wait for.

This place can be way too crowded but they sure have good food - whether you get a sandwich or chowder in bread bowl it is all yummy.

Lots of different favors and shapes, not your Midwest sourdough. Also tours. Their coffee is like the strong starbucks, so I did not like.

We were tired from wandering all over the Wharf area, so we found the closest bar for a beer! Upstairs above the bakery is the best kept secret! Have been going into this bakery for years and didn't know this place existed! We sat at the bar and enjoyed the ambiance! Our bartender was Christine and she took excellent care... More

We've visited Fisherman's Wharf many times in the past, and always stop at Boudin Bakery to buy fresh Sourdough bread. Before entering, I noticed a sign for the Bistro which I hadn't noticed before. So we hopped up to the second floor to find a nice Oyster Bar at the entrance, and full bar and classy restaurant in the rear.... More
