Best clam chowder on the Wharf

Best clam chowder and bread on the Wharf. Bonus- the store and the actual store- where the bread is made. A fun place.

We stopped at the Bistro Bar to to have a drink before dinner and we had so much fun with the barman that we decided to eat there ! We (4 of us ) tried the oysters , the calamari , the pizza and naturally the sourdough bread ! Everything was excellent and surprisingly enough , the prices were very... More

This is a beautiful restaurant upstairs with incredible views of the wharf and Alcatraz. Service was 5 star - very polite. We enjoyed a scrumptious shrimp cocktail appetizer, grilled chicken club with basil mayonnaise and a sourdough bowl of clam chowder. Felt like we were royalty. Very pleased with the atmosphere and treatment. Would highly recommend for the dining experience.... More

On our first trip to San Francisco, my husband and I stopped by Fisherman's Wharf and stopped at Boudin due to the overwhelming smell of delicious bread. The bread was indeed scrumptious, as was the atmosphere. As for the main course, the food was good, but very pricey for the amount of food/quality and the service was rather slow. It... More

The ahi tuna was outstanding, and dessert was very tasty. This is a fun place to visit and see bread being made, then having a great meal with water views.

Walking by the bread smelled way too good not to give it a try. They were actually able to break their bread into different animal shapes, including crabs, alligators and turtles. The shapes were kind of gimmicky but the bread was outstanding. It had a hard outer crust and a soft sour inside, just like sourdough should.

The food was good, but I had to give 4 stars because it was overpriced for what it was. I got the beer battered fried shrimp and it came with 6 large (not jumbo) fried shrimp and shoe string French fries- for $25 before tax, tip, etc. My husband got the crab Mac and cheese, which he enjoyed.

Arrived for lunch and had a 1/2 turkey & havarti with a bowl of chowder. The chowder was good and the sandwich was ok but I didn't think it was anything special. Place was busy for lunch. You can buy other breads and bakery good in the store.

Boudin lives up to its reputation for good bread. It is really good. We had the wedge salad and the crab cake sandwich. They were good. Solidly good. In hindsight I wish I would have just gotten my own loaf of bread and a cube of butter and just had at it. Our waitress was crazy! That made for some... More

I ate here with friends before heading to Alcatraz tour. It is in a great location with views of the wharf. Food was very good and service was as well. Of course you must eat the sourdough bread they are famous for.
