We started with the soup in a sour dough loaf. Delicious and a very novel way for us to be served our starter. I followed with a very exceptional mushroom risotto topped with parmesan and rosemary. This was freshly made and delicious. The service was very prompt and friendly. A lovely place to eat, extensive menu and reasonable prices. Will... More

If you want SF sour dough then you have to go to Boudin. Great history including a free museum and the ability to watch the bakers baking bread from both the street and from the 2nd floor looking down over the kitchen. We had dinner at the Bistro because the Café was so crowded and we wanted to warm up.... More

My wife & I went for a quick snack/meal prior to taking a boat tour of the Bay area as it is right across the street. Great, friendly service without a touristy feel. Had a window seat ( also fun to watch the activities ). Reasonable prices with a fun atmosphere. Check out the area downstairs for some SF memorabilia.

The clam chowder is wonderful, especially in the bread bowl! You must eat here while in San Francisco.

I have been to many places and enjoyed the fish and shrimp tacos. This is the bottom of the list. However: my wife had the sole and enjoyed it. The service was extremely slow. The bread was excellent as expected.

We always stop at Boudin when at the wharf and have eaten downstairs many times. After a long flight, we headed upstairs for a late lunch at a more relaxing pace. Our table by the window afforded a nice view. Boudin's bread is like none other and we enjoyed the basket as we awaited our meals. My crabcake sandwich was... More

Even though I was dining alone, they stayed me at a nice table by the windows. The service and food were both excellent.

Was looking forward to a great dinner but was a little disappointed. Had dined there previously and had a wonderful dinner and server. Our server was OK but not much personality - maybe too busy with other tables. The greens in the dinner salad were somewhat bitter but my husband said his Caesar salad was very good as was his... Excellent goat cheese and toasted sourdough appetizer. The seafood tacos - which were served very quickly - were good and a reasonable portion for lunch. Our server Kevin was outstanding; he knew the menu well, made suggestions, and was on point. Would dine here again.
