We have eaten here before and the food is quite good, however this time we ordered bacon and eggs and pointed to the picture which showed the bacon and eggs plate with toast. When our order came, it was a bacon and egg scramble in a bread bowl with peppers. I took it back to the counter and informed him... More

Right on Fishermans Wharf with a fascinating look into their vast bakery but the staff and the food inside were ok only - too much bread to the eggs at breakfast and too much to the clam less chowder at lunch.

I really like Boudin's bakery, and so we stopped to have breakfast at the Wharf, and ate outside to enjoy some people watching. The food was excellent and plentiful, and I ended up not touching my bacon and toast, because I was full. A busboy came to clear the table, followed closely by a homeless person who asked if he... We were in town for just one day with a cruise ship and visited the Bistro above the bakery during a day of sightseeing. We made reservations in advance, not sure they were needed on the Monday lunchtime when we were there. The atmosphere is lovely, with dark wood and large windows with a view of Alcatraz. The staff was... More

Great early dinner. Awesome bread, great views. Short weight. Enjoyed the fish and chips and fish tacos. No desert (headed to Ghirardelli later). Everyone left full and satisfied.

The Boudin sour dough bread is famous and justly so. The Bistro above the bakery is very good. My soup in a bread bowl was tasty and the bread bowl filled my up so that I couldn't finish my fish and chips - a rarity for me. The food was good. My waiter was friendly and helpful. On the bad... More

The food at Bistro Boudin is not what you would expect at a place like this. It is overpriced and the waiters are not very friendly. You can buy the same things they have in the bistro downstairs in their cafe for a lot less.

This place was near our hotel and we took a chance for dinner, so glad that we did! Downstairs is a cafe and shop and upstairs is a classy, comfortable restaurant. Our server was Tammy accompanied by Steven because she was training but she did a great job! We ordered the Ceviche Tasting Trio as an appetiser which we shared.... More

There is a café area and a sea-view restaurant on the second floor at the same entrance. We went to the restaurant for a light lunch and our main interest was “that soup in the bread bowl” that is called “chowder”. They had two different kinds: clam chowder and crab chowder. Since one of us is not a big lover... More

The downstairs cafe in the bakery is noisy and crowded, but the upstairs bistro is quieter and more conducive to a nice dinner. I had the cioppino two years ago on a trip here, and it's still just as good. The tomato broth is wonderful, and I loved the fish. Hubby not so happy--he thought there were too many mussels,... More
