Classic eat on the Wharf

I confess, I'm aware this is a very touristy thing to do, but it's still enjoyable. We hit the trifecta of Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and Fisherman's Wharf. We sandwiched a bread bowl of clam chowder in between all of this. There are plenty of other options to eat and buy at this bistro... read more

Went to this establishment after reading good reviews. Location is great but price of food over the top and beware of the cost of cocktails you'll be shocked. My friend ordered fish and chips and this dish was poor and overpriced at $22! I had tacos which were more reasonably priced. Our waiter was pleasant but twice failed to deliver... More

On our first day, we went to Fisherman's Wharf and Boudin's is one of the biggest buildings on the wharf. The chowder bowl and chili bowl were fantastic. There is a reason they are so busy. It was reasonably priced. I would recommend a visit.

The bread is (as expected) amazing! The crab and corn chowder and the crab cake sandwiches are truly delicous. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I know that everyone wants to typically get the bread bowl with the chowder but the tacos are amazing. We love to eat here to get away from the crowds downstairs. It's a lovely setting with great views of the wharf and the bay. The staff is always nice and the food is excellent. We have taken the little tour... More

Maybe I was just tired from the Alcatraz tour but this was just so so. The place is really nice with good views of the bay but the food was just average - nothing to write home about. The bread baked if alligator / teddy bear / turtles was quite cute (and you can buy it to go) - but... More

Enjoyed a good lunch at Bistro Boudin. The grill cheese sandwiches were very good and it was fun to eat outside and see the action around the Pier.

We were with a party of 15 and sat in the middle of the dining area on the second floor. We had only one server and he did a terrific job. The food choices were typical of a place that serves the masses, families, children, groups large and small. Which is to say nothing exotic but everything pretty tasty. I... More

There have a been a bunch of recent "soup and grilled cheese" shops popping up in the past couple years. Most of them are pretty average. The grilled cheese here however, spectacular! Worth a trip just for that. The chowder? Nothing special but totally passable and better than many out-of-the-can chowders served in the expensive slow service tourist-trappy places with... More

Need I say more. Sourdough bread at its finest and of course the rest of the food is good too. Great service has a cool window looking over the wharf. Just go
