The smell of the bread baking alone is enough to make you want to stop in. Fun watching them make the bread there, too.

Whenever I travel to S.F., Boudin's is my choice for dinner on the evening of my arrival from Europe. The food is excellent and I love the decor. Good cocktails, good wine list, good service - and of course their fabulous bread!

We were looking for a quick meal before our night Alcatraz tour and we stumbled upon Boudin by chance. We didn't have high hopes as we were in the middle of Fishermans Wharf and it's such a tourist trap, but surprisingly the meal was good. The chowder was served in a sourdough bread bowl that was made onsite in the... More

We stopped because of the seafood. Crab and cheddar cheese two individuals raved about. Pizza was good and fish tacos were good. I However cannot recommend this restaurant. Drinks were weak and pricey; service was slow and rude. I would not come here unless it's your last resort.

Maybe I just went on a bad day and a bad time, but the service was so slow and the kitchen was slow getting food out. You may have a different experience. I walked a long way to get here, so I just waited it out. My food (French toast with fruit using their famous sourdough bread) was quite good.... More

Recommended this place by a friend for breakfast as an alternative to the long queues at Mama's. Gor there just after 11am to find out that that was the cut-off for breakfast so we couldn't get pancakes, waffles etc. My mistake for assuming that breakfast would be available till later. Not a biggy, ordered our food and it was pretty... More

A busy place even for a late lunch, has a small museum to keep you occupied while you wait for your table, complete with bread samples. The menu has something for everyone, soups, salads, sandwiches, and that delicious sour dough bread! There is a great market downstairs for a quick bite and bread to go. Yummy!

I ate so much bread here. Sourdough is vegan. The wait staff were very knowledgeable about the menu, and substitution of potatoes for mashed potatoes due to allergy was accommodated easily. Beef stew meat (not vegan) was very tender. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and was not too loud in the afternoon.

Very good restaurant. Allows the diner to have a good view of the wharf. The restaurant is very clean including the bathrooms which were surprising for such a busy place.
