Found a Peets outside of California

In walking around DC, found a Peets coffee, could not wait to go there for a real cup of coffee. Since it was so hot there, I had an iced coffee, a Javiva! Refreshing and hit the spot.

We visit California from the UK every year and used Peets a lot. However, was disappointed to find toilets in both Piedmont and Fourth St pretty disgusting. I won't go into details in print, but no rest in those rooms.

I ended up at Peets during some sort of "happy hour" if you will but there was only one customer ahead of me and behind me. Even so, the staff rushed through making the orders quickly. Talk about the item received not looking like the photo on the advertising poster...there was one tiny squirt of whipped cream, the drink wasn't... More

The price is higher than Starbucks , the coffee taste is so bad , I trashed them away , can't even drink. If it has zero , I want to rate them zero.

Always terrific and fast service. For those who want them, a surprisingly large number of pastry and food choices, Nice outdoor seating for pleasant people watching.

They know how to make my soy mocha to perfection every time. The only disappointment is that they are so good at what they do, there is always a line to place your order and receive it. Guess it's better than an empty place, as those scare me off.

I knew Alfred Peet in passing because I knew one of his good Belgian buddies. I liked him personally in spite of his delightful humanity. His shop and coffee chain ois a different matter: I Love Peet's Coffee wherever I find it: Portand, Seattle, San Jose, Chicago, and so many other places. It is the continuing equivalent of Seattle's old... More

Peet's coffee is hot, rich, and caffeine-filled. One cup of Major Dickerson's Blend or Sumatran and a piece of pumpkin bread for breakfast and you are good to go for the rest of the morning.

If you like peets coffee then you have to check this place out. It is the original peets that started it all out. It has a seperate room detailing all the history of peets.

Staying in SoMa

Neighborhood Profile
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighborhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighborhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
