We were staying at the Argonaut, which is right next to Ghiradelli square. We always look for good breakfast when we are traveling and we have been to the Hollywood Cafe in the area before, but we wanted to avoid the line. We found Joanie's and there was no line at all. We were seated immediately by the very friendly... More

We stumbled across this place for breakfast as most other places nearby were still closed at 9am. We got one of the last tables available but waiting times appeared to be short. Good service. Good coffee. Very filling, tasty and reasonably priced breakfasts. I'd eat here again.

It's a short walk from the Wharf, and across the street from a small park. The place is small, and there are a couple of small tables outside. Service was good and so was the food. A clean, local restaurant. Coffee is $3 per person with refills, which is high but the going rate in San Fran.

For a restaurant that came recommended I was quite disappointed. The place is small and very busy. The staff seemed confused and mixed up orders, forgot to bring coffee and forgot to bring part of the meal. We wasted a lot of time waiting to get in and then waiting for our meals. We finally gave up on getting our... More

After trying a couple of other breakfast places near the wharf, we hit on Joanie's this morning. Unlike at others, there was no line, which is puzzling since the food was so good. My daughter had the fruit waffle, which was huge and covered with strawberries, blueberries, and black and red raspberries. The maple syrup was actually maple! My simple... More

Great food at cheap prices in this very small and basic diner. I had the Hobo omelette which was huge and very tasty. Good, friendly service too.

Very nice breakfast and friendly and attentive staff. The eggs benedict were great, as were the hash browns.

Delicious. Shrimp, dungeness crab. Great. They do not scrimp on portions. Huge plate, $17. Not bad for a couple blocks from fisherman's wharf. Seems like a locals place. Right across a Josef Konrad Park from Courtyard.

A real American diner with an excellent variety of breakfast in Californian style - including decent coffee!! The portions are big and all fresh! Yummy.
