My wife and I made a last minute reso here while in San Fran not really knowing what to expect. It was recommended and made by the concierge at Le Meridien. We arrived and were seated in the back corner. It was quiet and a bit romantic. The staff was very attentive but gave us our time to relax and... More

After our hotel concierge's recommendation and the many positive trip advisor reviews, we were very disappointed and upset over our experience at Michael Mina's in San Francisco. We arrived 1/2 hour early for cocktails at the bar, where we were treated very well and were thrilled with our choice in restaurants for the evening....very trendy, upscale atmosphere. Things went slightly... More

Ok, so not all was bad, however they took us 35 minutes past our reservation time on a Wednesday night! We ordered a wonderful $1,000 bottle of wine, and two hours later we walked out without ever getting our entrees. Kitchen must be really messed up! Food was good but not worth the price or the hassle! They were very... More

I have visited Michael Mina's restaurant for years, mostly in Vegas. Tried his flagship Restaurant in San Francisco and had the 9-Course tasting menu. Impeccable ingredients, an absolutely incredible meal (my top 3 in the world), a very knowledgeable Sommelier and fantastic wines. Expensive but great.

My wife and I appreciated the food a lot. It was well-made and creative. However, the environment, with a full house, was very loud. The tables were bare wood, albeit nice, in trying to achieve a casual air, but without table cloths one source of sound absorption is absent. I mentioned the loudness to a staff member and the response... More

I've been going here for some time. Nearly every time I'm in San Fran I tend to make it a point to go at least once while there. I never tire of it. Excellent service, food, atmosphere and just an incredible feeling of well being. Thanks for it always being a wonderful experience

Location, venue, staff, food, everything is just great here except the parking! However, it's worth the price and the trouble! The reservation process was friendly and welcoming when we called for a last minute reservation. We were accommodated and we were accommodated perfectly. The service staff could not have been better nor could the quality, creativity or preparation of the... More

Everything in this restaurant is amazing, however you need to pay for it. The service was perfect and the food was cooked perfectly. We had the Wagyu to start and it was cooked in front of us. For mains we had duck breast and lamb and they were both cooked to perfection. For dessert we had the tasting menu and... More

I read some reviews that this restaurant had some of the best burgers in the city. However, when I got to the restautrant we were informed the Burger was only available in the bar across the hotel. The food was good but this is a full fledged steak house and it is very expensive.

My wife took me to Michael Mina for my birthday dinner. We were immediately attracted to the tasting menu, particularly because each diner would get a different dish in each of the 9 courses. Each dish was a positive surprise, the standouts being: caviar, sashimi (toro and salmon), fowl (incredible chicken breast and quail), steak (5A5 wagyu and ribeye) and... More
