Yes it's in the sometimes culinarily challenge tourist area of Fisherman's Wharf.... but it's good! My family of four (two adults, two teens) started an 8-night California coast vacay with a first dinner here. It was a great entree into the trip - complete with the requisite sourdough bread and Dungeness crab. Yes, you're paying for the location and the... More

A good menu choice, and food was excellent crab especially, but most memorable was the banana & strawberry sundae a must to try.

So it's just a little better than Joe's crab shack. The roasted Dungeness crab was dried out and the brittle shell was like pealing an egg. If you did it right it was great if not you spent a ton of time picking out the shell from the meat. The garlic sauce on the crab was the highlight. In all... More

Dungeness crab is our bread and butter, so you shouldn't have received anything short of perfection. I'm sincerely sorry about that. We hold ourselves to a high standard when it comes to quality, so it's disappointing that this wasn't obvious throughout your meal here. We hope we'll have another opportunity to woo you more! Sincerely, Jim More

Restaurant is located directly on the Pier. Restaurant interiour is equiped with traditional marine look. Inside is a great view to the alcatraz prison. The service was ok but not perfect. Meal was ok but nothing special. In total a good place to be for a standard brunch.

Ziegler, it sounds like we are sitting at about the average level for you right now. From service to food, we definitely could have been more impressive. Do you think you would be up for joining us for lunch or dinner sometime? Our Dungeness Crab is not to be missed, and it'd be great to hear your thoughts. Sincerely, Jim More

Just across the road from our hotel, was this wonderful restaurant. We had a window table that overlook the San Francisco Bay. There was complimentary binoculars to soak in that beautiful view. Our food was just as good, in fact we came here twice. I had grilled mixed seafood served on a large grilling plate , and my wife had... More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge as a good restaurant at the wharf. The view was perfect and the menu was extensive. The food was decent, not memorable but edible. It was about what we expected...probably not a local favorite but if you want a restaurant at the wharf with a view this one is a good choice.

I'm curious as to what you ordered while you were here. Our intention is to provide crave-worthy dishes, and it sounds like we missed that mark. Thank you for sharing this with us, though -- we look forward to continuing to improve. Take care! Sincerely, Jim More

We should have known there was a reason why this place was the only restaurant on the Wharf that still had open reservations on a Saturday night. It is very noisy, so if you're looking for a romantic setting, this is not it. Seating is key here. If you get a table close to the water you are rewarded with... More

While we make a point to not over-spice our food, there shouldn't be this kind of lack of flavor. Simple flavors of the meat should still shine through. I'm curious as to what you all had while you were here that you weren't so impressed with. It's disappointing that we let you down, and I wish we had made it... More

I really thought from the reviews that the food would be really good. I'm from Boston so maybe I'm partial to our seafood. I ordered oysters and honestly I could hardly eat them. They weren't like east coast oysters which are sweet and smooth tasting . These were strong in smell and taste... Sorry not a fan. The shrimp cocktail... More

Danielle, Pacific Oysters are quite different than what you might be used to. It's disappointing to hear that you weren't more impressed with them, as well as the shrimp cocktail. Thank you for being honest with us, though. Our crab usually steals the show -- I'm glad you enjoyed. I just wish everything hit that same high mark for you!... More

I love the Prix Fixe menu - $30 for salad/chowder, a selection of meals then homemade ice cream. A great selection and a very budget conscious option for along the wharf.

Known as the sign said, so I had the fish sandwich, it didnt' disappoint. We had it on bun with coleslaw and fries, so good. My son got the same and my husband and daughter each got their huge burgers. Sits right by the waterfront and can see Alcatraz from the outside patio. You order at the register, they call... More
